2013 Dodge Avenger - Absolutely LOVE It!
This has been the best car that I have ever had! Hands down! It drives smoothly even on bumpy roads. It steers easy and responds very quickly. It is the perfect compromise of sporty for my husband, but yet classy for me. We have had it for a year now and haven't had a single issue with it yet. It is the perfect car both in terms of functionality and style.
Story
My family and I went to Texas for the first time this year. It is about a 14 hour trip. Everyone thought that we were crazy for taking 5 people that far in a car, but it worked out great. There was room enough for everyone to be comfortable and all our things to fit, including all the souvenirs that we bought while we were down there. Just thinking about the trip makes me smile.
Pros
It is a car that is large enough for three car seats in the back. This is a very difficult thing to find if you're wanting to keep it looking on the sporty side! It is super comfy to ride in and the seat warmers are awesome on these cold winter days. The trunk is extremely large and carries our family's 5 vacation bags without a problem.
Cons
The only negative thing about this car is that it does have a large blind spot. With the pieces on the back windows (which definitely help in the appearance section as they look cool) are not see through. That is honestly the only thing that I would change about it!
2015 Dodge Avenger - Adequate
I bought this car because my previous vehicle quit running, and it would have been more to fix it than it was worth. I was starting a new job and just need cheap, reliable transportation with a warranty. I basically bought the first car I could afford. That being said, I have been impressed with the quality and durability of the car.
Story
I don't really use it for anything fun. I go to work and I go to the store and that has been about it. I let a coworker use it to go to lunch and she didn't adjust the seat when she was finished. I smashed my knees on the steering wheel when I tried to get in next time.
Pros
I like the color and the fact that it was a newer model with a factory warranty. It's roomy and not bad looking. I haven't had any mechanical trouble at all so I would call it reliable. The gas mileage is not bad and it had very low miles when I bought it. It was a basic model and did not have a lot of feature. The cruise works well and the controls on the steering wheel are convenient. There is a lot of trunk space.
Cons
The big problem with the cars is that it is under powered. The little four-cylinder motor is always struggling. It has a hard time getting down the road. My other complaint is that it is a plain common car with no aesthetic value at all. The material on the seats is hard to clean and stain easily. I also do not like that the battery is not accessible from the engine compartment. I had to pay someone to change the battery because I couldn't get to it myself.
