Chrysler PT Cruiser Owner Ratings & Reviews

2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Content and satisfied.
I bought my PT Cruiser used from one previous owner. I have never been so happy with a car as I have with this car. I know it is old and has seen better days, but I dread the day when I have to give it up. I love that it is simple and easy to maintain and inexpensive all around.
Story
I parked my car at the mall and went shopping. I came out of the mall and went to my car. My keyless entry wasn't working, and I was getting upset not knowing what to do. I called my husband who said, "Hon, use the key to get in." Duh. I really forgot that I could use the key!! I will never live this down -- until this day, we still laugh about it.
Pros
I love the fact that it is a small car but roomy inside. The biggest benefit is the trunk since it is a hatchback. I carry things around in it like it is a truck. It is great on gas mileage. I love that the car is very easy to maintain but has nice features. Anything I need to fix or replace is very reasonable and pretty much can be fixed by my semi-automotive fixer hubby. I have almost 200,000 miles on it, and it runs great and still smooth for such an old car. I love the keyless entry, and the radio tells me the songs and artists. It has a CD player even though CDs aren't used mu... (more)
Cons
The biggest negative for me is that they don't make them anymore. When my car dies, it is going to be a sad day. My hubby complains about the way the stuff is under the hood, that you have to take a lot apart to get to anything, but it usually isn't too much of a big deal. One thing I don't like is there is no room for my purse. I always throw it on the passenger floor and it bothers whoever is sitting there. Not enough room in between the arms of the seats for a purse.
2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Not good.
I would like to start off by saying I got this car for 2500 dollars, and with 100,000 miles on it. I got a four month warranty, which in the long run it paid off. I would like to add that I very much enjoy the look of the PT Cruiser. Therefore, that is the main reason why I got it in the first place. When it comes to the inside of the car, I enjoyed the look. Although, I disliked that the window buttons are in the front next to the radio instead of being on the door. The car has a good handle, and it never made any odd noises while driving. Although, after a month of having the car, I started to have some problems with the car. Mainly, due to overheating. First, I took it to the garage, and they put a new fan in the front. That was not the problem, because it started to over heat again... (more)
Story
I had my dog jump out of the window in this car because of other dog barking at it on the street. It was very funny.
Pros
The car runs smooth, and the A/C works very well. My favorite feature is the body itself.
Cons
Overheating issues.
