My PT Cruiser convertible was purchased used with 18,000 miles on it. After five years, it is still running very smooth with no major problems. I love the retro look of the body, the sleek design and the smooth curves. The interior is very roomy even though it appears somewhat small when looking from the outside- I have never felt cramped, and the seats were very comfortable, even for a 1,200 mile cross-country relocation.
Story
People love to compliment PT Cruisers on their after-market accessories, such as chrome accenting, unique fascia, and other personalizing features. It's fun to be able to share your love of your car with others.
Pros
The PT Cruiser is very quiet to drive, with minimal outside noise to distract you. I can barely hear the road rumble on the highway, and passing cars have never been a bother. The convertible also has excellent insulation despite being a ragtop. Not even Wisconsin winters can freeze me out of my car!
Cons
The PT Cruiser does not have the best gas mileage, topping out around 16mph in city and 19-20mph on the highway. This means you use up much more gas for those short shopping trips. The convertible also lacks much trunk space, making it difficult to pick up small furniture that would otherwise have fit inside the basic wagon hatchback model.
