2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Compact with road stamina.
This car has stamina for the road as I have driven it cross country twice, and as it's pushing 125,000 miles,. It still runs like the day I drove it off the lot. Comfy seats, great four-wheel drive, no major issues under the hood and fairly fuel efficient for a non-hybrid vehicle. Very pleased with this compact car. It's very easy to zip around in, although it lacks in horse power a bit. It's very easy to maneuver in tough city traffic.
Story
Best memory in this car was my drive across the country from California through the Rocky Mountains all the way to Chicago.
Pros
Gas mileage, longevity, durability, comfort, and spacious.
Cons
Horse power, low to the ground, and limited automatic features.
2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser - It suits my style
I love the styling of the PT - a sort of retro/European look. I wanted a car that was a little different than average and this is it. I also love the space inside the car; it is very roomy. The only problems the car has had so far are needing new tires and needing work done on the brakes. The car has made it through winter in Chicago with no problems. It handles well, even on bad roads.
Pros
One of the car's best features is the spaciousness of the interior. I have a job that requires transporting supplies that can sometimes take up a lot of space and I'm able to fit them into the car. It looks small on the outside, but is roomy inside. The styling of the car is great - it's a little different than everything else out there. The car handles really well. It brakes safely and I have never had any safety issues, even on wet or icy/snow roads.
Cons
One of the only points I could consider a con is the gas mileage. I find that the car isn't quite as efficient as I would like in a vehicle. However, I do find myself in a lot of stop and go traffic, so this could play a role in the fuel efficiency. The trunk is a little on the small side, but is mostly made up for by the room in the car itself. It isn't the best at inclines and hills, however, living in the Midwest this is rarely a problem.
