2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Great first car, great gas mileage, great everything!
When I was car shopping I wanted something with great gas mileage, looks fun, drives great, fits plenty of people and is fun to drive. With my PT Cruiser, I got exactly that. This car is great for a first time buyer, gets great mileage (18-20mpg), and looks awesome. It fits all my friends in it and its fun to drive. It isn't too small, isn't too big, and is perfect for everything I need it for. I drive in the city for work and I can park it anywhere, I can drive fast on the freeway without any shaking in the steering wheel, I can slam on the brakes without them locking up, drive with the air conditioner and heater and I have never had any major problems with it. Overall, this car has been good to me and that is what I look for when purchasing a car. I have no regrets with this vehicle.
Story
One time I was driving through Phoenix where I live and someone needed a ride. It was a pretty lady and I was headed in that direction anyway so I figured I'd be a nice guy and help her out. Once I agreed to let her in, she yelled out to all her friends and they all came running over looking for a ride too! They were all really pretty girls and needed a ride so I obliged and spent most of the ... (more)
Pros
The pros are its American made and parts are cheap for it.
It looks cool, drives great and smooth. The sound system is loud and fun to bump! The size of the car is perfect, it fits all my friends inside comfortably and it gets great gas mileage. The A/C blows cold and the heater blows hot in the winter.
Cons
There aren't many cons to this PT Cruiser. I do not have any regrets, I got it at a great price and I haven't needed any major work done to it. I get oil changes regularly and it treats me well in return. The only con I can think of is that it gets dirty quickly. The color I have is blue and you can see a lot of dirt after it rains and the car looks filthy. Plus I live in Arizona where dirt is everywhere so I guess depending on where you live, you might now have that problem.
2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - A great car
The 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser is one of my favorite cars that I have ever owned. I bought it in 2013 from an acquaintance for cash. It is one of the best automotive investments I have made. I enjoy its handling, narrow turn radius, and general all-around drivability. There isn’t a ton of power under the hood, but what the car does have, it utilizes very well. Mine is a manual transmission. If you get one with an automatic, your perception of how it utilizes power may vary. It's very comfortable, and because of its low profile, feels much sportier than it really is. My favorite aspect is probably the amount of storage space that it has. If you remove the rear seats, you can fit shelves or a small couch or recliner in there. The only drawback to that is the size of the hatch and the roof.... (more)
Story
The PT cruiser is pretty common in my town. At one time in a parking lot, there were three of the same color (including mine) lined up next to each other. I had to check out my wheels and rims, which are pretty distinct, to figure out which one was mine.
Pros
Easy to drive. For a Chrysler, it's fairly easy to work on. Tons of storage space. Great turn radius. Very few maintenance issues.
Cons
The model I bought had no cruise control. Low front-end clearance. Not as efficient on gas as it seems it should be. I have had to replace the radiator cooling fan twice. Apparently, it's a common problem on this model. However, there have been no other issues.
