I went to the dealership and purchased my PT Cruiser in April 2015. It honestly wasn't my first choice but the only vehicle that was in my price range. I had just been in a car accident that left me without a vehicle so I felt like I had no choice but to quickly find another vehicle. When I first saw the PT Cruiser at the dealership I immediately thought to myself, that's a ugly little car. I don't really care for the small body. I prefer a full size vehicle. When I test drove the PT Cruiser it was just okay. It had a slow take off as I have noticed seems to be the case with most vehicles made by Chrysler. Sometimes I push the gas a little hard expecting to take right off. Big fail. I absolutely do not like the tiny trunk. I can never get all of my groceries into the small space. I usu... (more)
Story
I drove my vehicle to a local beach for a weekend getaway. I had absolutely no problems that particular day.
Pros
My top positive things about my PT Cruiser are that it gets me back and forth to my destination, the headlights stay on a few minutes after you hit the alarm to get in the vehicle, and once inside the vehicle shortly after placing the vehicle in drive the doors automatically lock. The first con: it gets me back and forth to my destination. This is very important to me. More important than what the vehicle looks like actually. This car is actually pretty dependable. I haven't had any major issues since my purchase. The second con: the headlights stay on a few minutes after you hit the alarm... (more)
Cons
My top negative things about my PT Cruiser are: the gas mileage sucks, the trunk is very small, and the panel for the windows is above the radio. My first con: the gas mileage sucks. I've noticed this with vehicles made by Chrysler in general. I find myself stopping at the gas station quite often. A little too often to be honest. This gets very costly and is very inconvenient. My second con: the trunk is very small. I absolutely dislike this feature. I can never fit all of my groceries into my trunk. I have to use space on my backseat. If I'm out running errands and need to stop by more th... (more)

The PT Cruiser is a unique car that fits in with unique people. I know that a lot of people really hated the look of it when it came out, and I was originally one of those people. However, when I came to own one, I realized how biased my opinions were. The interior was clean when I first purchased it, no cracks or dents in the dash, everything included save for the CD player. Over time it's held up exceptionally well and only recently sustained two cracks due to the humid heat that we have in our state. The engine has held up for 118600 miles thus far, and I just got the oil changed about two months ago. It drives smoothly though my particular vehicle has a problem at the back that makes the spare tire rack rattle. It's probably not indicative of the rest of the PT Cruisers, but it's ... (more)
Story
I was able to go hiking with my best friend and take a big cooler and all the things that we needed in my little PT cruiser. I didn't even have to really 'make' room for anything. It just fit. And it's so small that it was surprising.
Pros
It's a very durable, fuel-efficient car with a lot of space for people that have need to go and do things at work or off work. It comes in handy for a technician like myself. The fuel-efficiency helps save money when my budget is a little tight.
Cons
The only negative things that I can see are that it's so low to the ground that it scrapes and there's a small defect in mine that makes the spare tire rack rattle. I don't really mind the second one because I simply tighten the bolt and it stops for a little while, and the first one is more alarming than harmful.

The Chrysler Pt Cruiser is the very first car I owned. I loved driving anywhere and everywhere in this car. Some days I would drive it for no reason at all just because the way it feels is like nothing else I have ever drove. The steering is just perfect. It is in the "goldilocks" steering range, not too tight and not too loose. I have driven many different types of vehicles with many different handling aspects. None compare to the PT Cruiser. I have driven it in snow, ice and mud and never once have I had any problems or concerns that I may become stuck or start sliding, It has plenty of space, even though from the outside, it looks small. I feel safer in this vehicle than any other vehicle I've ever ridden in. I have no complaints regarding the driving aspect of the vehicle. I do hav... (more)
Story
I was once driving on a four-lane road that had a small incline. There was a four-wheel drive truck stuck. I used this front-wheel drive, little four-cylinder engine to push him up the hill.
Pros
The spacious inside is amazing. It is a perfect family car. The trunk has enough room for groceries and normal every day things you purchase. If anything is larger than this, you can completely remove the seats. The PT Cruiser handles better than any other vehicle I've driven. It gets great gas mileage and can go fast enough for any interstate.
Cons
I have worked on many vehicles and never have I encountered such a problem as with the PT Cruiser. It took 4 weeks just to do a simple alternator change. The only way to do a repair as simple as a water pump change is to take the engine off the bolts, disconnect everything to the engine and raise the engine up at least 8 inches or more. It is far too hard to repair or replace parts on this car compared to every other vehicle I know of.
