2002 Chrysler 300M - Sporty Luxury
The Chrysler 300M is a great car. I absolutely love the fact that you cruise along in comfort in the leather seats, but still have the sport get-up to zip around in traffic. The heated seats are a must have for the cold winters here in NYC. And the sunroof/moonroof is great for parking and star gazing with the sweetheart.
The one down side to the Chrysler 300M is the length. It can be kind of hard to parallel park, especially if the only space available is about 6 inches longer than the car...
Story
I remember being able to sit comfortably in the car with the seat heaters on and watch some New Years Eve fireworks. It was very nice and romantic.
Pros
The positive things about the Chrysler 300M are that is has a large spacious interior, leather seats, heated seats, and a sun roof.
I also liked the quick acceleration it offered.
Cons
Sadly, it proved to be too long for my needs living in the city. It can be a really pain to try to find a spot, only to find that the car is too long and the search continues.
2001 Chrysler 300M - Dependable car
I bought a 2001 Chrysler 300M in the summer of 2013 for $2,800. When I purchased the car it had about 150,000 miles on it. When I first met the previous owner to purchase the car I was very interested in the condition of the car and how good of shape the car was in for being 13 years old and having high miles. The car is blue with multiple chrome accents such as the emblems and trimming around the windows which outline the car beautifully. The interior has comfortable tan leather seats, white instrument gauges outlined in chrome which at night glow a bright indiglo color, nice dark brown wood grain slabs, plenty of room for any driver, controls for the four disc cd-changed built in the dashboard located on the steering wheel, heated seats, power moonroof, and a large storage armrest in... Story
I was heading down a two lane road traveling about 45mph and a lady pulled out in front of me, so I swerved and ramped a ditch to avoid hitting the other car and drove threw someone's yard and since the car controlled so well, I avoided a serious accident and injury.
Pros
After having the Chrysler for 2 years and adding about 17,000 miles to the original 150,000, the car still runs and performs excellent. The power is still there and although I put new struts, stabilizer bars, outer tie-rods, and breaks to the front suspension the handling is still were it was when I bought it. The engine has no leaks and the transmission hasn't givin' me any problems at all on the lines of slipping or hesitating. Cons
The cons to this car are really not on the lines of performance but are more electrical and cosmetic. One of the main issues with the car that started about 6 months after having the car is the main fuse that controls the alarm, door locks, radio and cd-player, and the sunroof sometimes blows randomly. It can blow two days in a row or it can go weeks without blowing. The dealership says its most likely a short somewhere but could be very expensive to track it down. 2000 Chrysler 300M - Avoid Chryslers
The 2000 Chrysler 300m is the worst car I've ever owned. Coming from a 1994 Toyota Corolla I wasn't expecting much and it was a good thing I wasn't, as the 300m is a hunk of junk that no respectable mechanic will even give a look at because of how many issues and how poorly built the car is. I bought the car at only 90,000 miles and it was already at the point where once something went bad in the car it was beyond repair. Honestly I will never go with an American car again and only stick with Japanese or Korean cars. I would never recommend anybody to go with a Chrysler. Not even if someone's giving it to you for free!
Story
One memorable time that I had driving the Chrysler 300m was when I was about an hour away from home and the alternator and battery died at the same time because the alternator was not supplying ample power to the battery. It left me stranded for a few hours in the middle of nowhere.
Pros
I only enjoyed a few things about the Chrysler 300m and one of them was how comfortable the driver seat was. It was angled in a way that conformed to my body and it didn't make my back hurt like my old car did. Another thing I particularly enjoyed about the Chrysler 300m was the smell of the car. I don't know if that's a common occurrence but it's one of the best smelling interiors I've ever had the chance of sniffing.
Cons
Just about everything not stated in the "Pros" section is a "Con" about this car. No mechanics ever want to work on this car because of the insanely stupid way that the vehicle is built, which makes even the simplest of repairs a nightmare. The battery is located inside of the passenger side tire which makes it ten times as difficult to do anything battery related to the car. Honestly the car overall is just a nightmare.
