Though not the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class, the 300 does offer robust powertrain options that excel in other areas. A powerful and well-reviewed Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine powers standard 300 models, while a 5.7-liter V8 is standard on the 300C and optional on the 300S, a rare option on a mainstream sedan. Also unusual is the rear-wheel-drive setup on the 300, though all-wheel-drive is available with the V6. All 2019 Chrysler 300 models use an eight-speed automatic transmission with a built-in manual shift mode.

Both elegant and a bit imposing, the 300 measures 199 inches (just over 16.5 feet) in length, 75 inches in width, and 59 inches in height, making it one of the largest full-size sedans out there based on exterior measurements.

The 300 starts with 17-inch wheels, standard on the base 300 Touring and Touring L models, though 18-inch wheels are available for RWD models only via the Driver Convenience Group package. The 300S features 19-inch wheels with performance tires (the latter of which come with AWD models only). The 300 Limited and the 300C both features 20-inch wheels.

Chrysler also offers Chrome Appearance and Sport Appearance packages (not available with the Driver Convenience Group package) on the entry-level 300 Touring model, both of which feature 20-inch wheels and exclusive exterior accents.

Highlights upfront include a large 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, classic analog clock face, easy-to-use rotary transmission selector, and some of the best sound-system options out there.

Upholstery in the 2019 Chrysler 300 is also considered high-quality by reviewers at Kelley Blue Book and elsewhere. The base 300 Touring and Touring L models feature cloth upholstery available in either black or white. The 300S and Limited get leather upholstery standard and heated and ventilated front seats (available on the 300S, standard on the Limited), while the 300C gets upgraded leather upholstery.

Seating for five is both spacious and comfortable, with ample room for five adults. All models feature a 60/40 split-folding rear seat standard. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof is optional for all models except the 300 Touring.

Utility and Practicality

A great commuter vehicle and family sedan, the Chrysler 300 has room to spare. Boasting a spacious 106.3 cubic feet of passenger volume and an impressive 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, the 2019 Chrysler 300 can comfortably accommodate five adult passengers and their belongings. The 2019 Chrysler 300 also comes with a host of interior storage areas, including rear armrests with cupholders (standard) and cargo net (optional on all models except the 300 Touring). A powered trunk lid release is standard on all models.

Moving up trim levels, the 300S gets all of the features of the 300 Touring plus heated and power-adjustable front seats and a universal garage door opener (the latter of which is optional on 300 Touring and Touring L models). The Limited adds driver-seat memory settings, a power-adjustable and heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and an auto-dimming driver-side mirror. GPS navigation is optional on all models except the base Touring. An Alpine Audio Group sound system with nine speakers is optional on the 300S only, while a sound system with a Harman Kardon GreenEdge amplifier is available on Limited and 300C models only. Driving Experience

The driving experience is where the 2019 Chrysler 300 truly excels compared to its rivals. Reviewers from Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds praised the 300 for its quiet cabin and incredible smoothness, even on bumpy roads. Though the cabin itself is spacious and comfortable, visibility could be better, as the 300 has small windows relative to its large cabin size. In terms of power, however, few full-size sedans (if any) have the 2019 Chrysler 300 beat. That is due to what's under the hood.

Base power for the Chrysler 300 comes from its 3.6-liter V6 engine, which gets 292 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. V6-powered 300S versions get a power bump to 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard on the 300C and optional on the 300S is the even more powerful 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which generates 363 horsepower and 394 lb.-ft. of torque. Lastly, the 2019 Chrysler 300 offers intuitive designs, high-quality materials, a host of luxury features unavailable in many competing full-size sedans. Price-wise, the 300 starts about $1,000 more than the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Taurus, but several thousand less than the Kia Cadenza and Toyota Avalon.
