My 2012 Chevy Volt is an amazing and unique vehicle in many ways. It's main feature is being an electrically powered car that is able to run gas-free for about 30 miles, yet offering the flexibility to use gas there-after. Having an electric motor, it is almost silent when running on battery power and still is extremely quiet even after switching to gas-powered operation. Gas-powered operation averages about 34mpg for a mix of city and highway driving, though will decrease to 28-30mpg in cold weather of temperatures below 20 degrees. The car itself seems to be a very strong build quality, giving an amazingly smooth and quiet ride for a compact size car. It really does give a luxury car feel beyond what you would expect from a Chevrolet name badge. Acceleration is peppy for being a fuel... (more)
Story
I very frequently get conversations started based on the vehicle others see me get out of. Many are curious to how well they work.
Pros
Quiet, almost silent when running in electric mode. Plug-in feature to use electrical battery power for the first 30 miles. Very good build quality. Peppy acceleration. Fuel efficient. Very reliable. No problems so far after 120,000 miles
Cons
Only has 4 seats. Bose stereo system has some computer glitches.

Mine is red, and the paint color is really nice and stands out. I don't think it's super apparent that it's a hybrid when you see it. The awesome thing about the Volt is that if you only drive short distances from home (i.e., work, errands), you can pretty much get away with only using electric power. I charge it every one to two days, and I almost never have to put gas in. I'd say I average about 35-40 miles of range off of one charge. The inside of the car is also really sleek and attractive. I have the black leather and white accents, so it looks kind of futuristic. I also have heated seats and remote start, both super convenient for the Wisconsi... (more)
Story
I've definitely had a few close calls driving in the winter with the Volt. It doesn't get great traction all the time, and I go slipping around on turns. However, it operates way better than other small cars I've driven.
Pros
Gas mileage, styling, and premium features.
Cons
Dash interface.
