2011 Chevrolet Traverse - Great car!
I have loved this car for the most part. It has tons of leg room which is important for me because I'm tall. Mine seats 7 people which is awesome for our family of 5 because we can take a couple friends on trips too. The back seats fold down. The middle seats do but not flat down. Mine also has a backup camera, a TV, and everything is electric, including the heated seats. There are two seats up front, two captains seats in the middle, and a bench seat in the back. The back seat also lets you fold down one side and not the other if you are hauling stuff. Mine came with a hitch too and has traction control. It does really well in town driving and we have taken it on several trips across the states for family vacation.
Story
When I had to get my aunt to Nebraska from her home in Michigan she brought so much stuff with her that we had to take out one of the captains seats and fold down the backseat. she brought her dog so we had a ton of dog stuff as well. Pros
The things I love the most about my car are the seating area. There is literally tons of room for people to have their own space. I have plenty of leg room while I'm driving and I love that it sits up higher so I don't feel like I'm in a car or sitting low. The seats are comfortable (mine are leather). I love the TV in mine for the kids because I can turn a movie on when they are getting rowdy.
Cons
The biggest drawback is the spare tire. It is so hard to get it out. We got a flat coming out of the city, which by the way the sensor didn't warn me until I only had 7 pounds of pressure so it didn't do it's job, and it took over an hour just to get the tire out from the spare lodge. Also while there is a lot of room inside the vehicle it is hard to get people into the backseat unless they are under 10 because there is not much room to walk between the captains seats to get to the backseat. It is a very tight fit there and no other way to get to the backseat.
2010 Chevrolet Traverse - I really like this vehicle. It works great for my needs.
I bought this vehicle because it has three rows of seats but is not a huge vehicle. The size is perfect and fits well in my standard size garage with room to spare. The back seats function well for all the kids I drive around. We even took it on a long road trip and it easily accommodated 7 people and all of our luggage. It is easy to drive and doesn't feel too big. I had only driven small cars before this SUV but the transition has been easy.
Story
We took a multifamily 550 mile road trip in this vehicle. We were able to fit 7 passengers and all of their luggage. We had a great time together with friends and all felt like we fit well in the car.
Pros
I love the backup camera, blind spot mirrors, and automated back hatch that opens and closes with the touch of a button. These are features I had never had before. I love that the 3rd row of seats folds down to give large trunk space. I have even been able to fit some small furniture in the back. The captain seats in the 2nd row make it easy to climb in and out of the 3rd row. Also the back seats fold in parts so that I can sit an extra person or 2 but still have extra trunk space.
Cons
The pictures on the buttons for the air conditioning controls were worn out so we had to guess at what each function was. The front row passenger cold air doesn't work even after having it serviced multiple times. We were not aware of the issue until after purchase. I also don't like how the grooves that the captain seats slide in to move forward and back, catch all kinds of trash and debris and are hard to clean out.
