This is a great SUV for families that want extra space for cargo, or a third row seat. The car drives very smooth, gets good mileage, and is fun to drive. I am pleased I upgraded from a smaller SUV to this one. Holds resale value well.
Story
When we test drove the car for the first time our girls (4 and 6) declared it is the best car ever and named it Diamond because it is so sparkly.
Pros
The third row seat that folds down for extra space in the cargo area was a huge plus for me. Automatic open lift gate, 2 sunroofs, camera for when car is in reverse, and bucket seats for second row passengers are a hit also. The cars build has a sleek and sophisticated look that makes it look more expensive than it really is. Also has sensors that go off on dash if oil needs to be changed, low tire pressure, and a couple others I haven't had to deal with yet.
Cons
HUGE tires that are costly to replace. SUV barely fits in our garage and we have to unload the backend outside or the lift gate gets scratched where it hits the garage door when opened. So many buttons on the dash and console that it took awhile to understand what everything did. Since it is wide, parking can be tricky in parking garages. Can't replicate keys easily, has to be programmed for the car at the dealer and can cost over $150.

The Traverse has great power and pickup from a dead stop. It handles like a sedan. There is enough leg room for 6 people over six foot tall. The seats fold up for added hauling and in configurations that still accommodate four passengers. I have had no problems with any major system after 100,000 miles. It has not been in the shop for anything but preventative maintenance.
Story
My best memory is when we moved to a different house. The last load was going into the Traverse. It seemed like there was always room for that last thing that kept appearing.
Pros
There is enough room to transport 6 adults comfortably. The hauling capacity is the same as any truck, and, except for the fact that is enclosed, it can handle up to 12 feet of material. The interior is spacious enough. It is always a smooth ride. There have been no problems with any major system in the first six years of ownership. The Traverse has also held a good resale value. There is still a demand for the vehicle even though it has run out of all warranties.
Cons
It would be nice if it got better gas mileage. The other V6 SUV that I own gets considerably better mileage than the Traverse. Also, for some reason it has very little power when in reverse. It has a hard time pushing the boat up a hill in reverse, though the only time this happens is getting out of my driveway.
