2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Enjoy
The Trailblazer that I have is nice. I did not pick the vehicle myself but I like it because it fit my family at the time of purchase. I like that it is large enough to feel like I am sitting above other cars when I am driving on the highway. That I can see all around and that the windows are wide enough that there is a minimal blind spot. I like that you can adjust the seat to sit higher if you like to sit high up or you can move the pedals towards you in case you are too short. The seating is easy to clean when you have leather interior. The trunk area is large and the little compartments are very convenient. Some of the things that I don't like is that they tend to have electrical issues. Although the vehicle was previously owned when I bought it, the heated seats and CD player went... (more)
Story
One memorable thing about my vehicle is when I used the car in the snow for the first time. I slid off of the road and was able to get out using the 4 wheel drive.
Pros
My favorite things are that there are controls on the steering wheel, I liked that it had heated seats when they worked, I liked that it had a sun roof when it wasn't broken, I like that the car tells me when something is wrong, even down to a loose gas cap. I like that there are plenty of storage places in the vehicle and that is plenty of room.
Cons
The cons are that the vehicle has a history of have electrical issues, that the city gas mileage is not very good. I do not like that the carpet is a little hard to clean and that it comes with mats that are just more carpet instead of plastic mats to protect the carpet. I do not like that there is no car seat buckle attachment.
2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Reliable, attractive, tough, comfortable.
This vehicle was purchased to replace a mom-van. I liked the van because I could transport many K-9's in it with their own kennels. I chose the Trailblazer because it had a 4WD,, which is needed in Midwest winters for sure. While the van was easy to get children and dogs out of, the Trailblazer offered more versatility in movement, safety on the road, and a sleeker image.
Story
I used this vehicle to get kids to and from summer camp. Great space for all the things they packed, and super good when it came time to collect them, and clean up their mess coming home.
Pros
The vehicle has an attractive design which spans many model years. The rack on top is very useful. Though it is not as versatile as the mom-van in regards to available space inside, it has the ability to lower seats and make a larger deck for carrying equipment, and other payloads. the 4WD makes the Trailblazer more sturdy, and more reliable during stormy months. The tires for it are fairly reasonable, and mechanic work, when needed, is also reasonable. After-market parts and other items are great on the budget when needed. All in all, this vehicle has been very satisfying, and I would buy... (more)
Cons
Because we tend to have rough roads with many potholes, things like the ball joints, bearings and other parts will wear faster than other vehicles. The transmission seems to want to slip when put in “auto” or 4WD, though it has not quit entirely in those extra modes. The steering system tends to leak, and I’ve had it repaired twice already. The glove box between the front seats has never been stable. Seems to wriggle, and is always in the way, and sometimes popping open without warning.
