2015 Chevrolet Tahoe - Great family vehicle
I love the look of the vehicle and that it is not a minivan. It is still a family-friendly vehicle with all the seating you need but looks cooler than a van. It is the more affordable full-size SUV for the budget-friendly, but cool, mom. It is a very safe vehicle with many airbags.
Story
We took all four of our kids on an eight-hour trip out of state, and everyone was comfortable and had a good time!
Pros
I love that it has a DVD player for the kids in the back. The interior is really nice with plenty of cupholders and USB ports. There are air vents throughout the vehicle so that everyone gets sufficient cool or warm air. The back row of seats have different options for folding them down so you can still carry cargo and have plenty of seats. The entertainment system has really good sound quality and many options for what kind of media you want to access. The GPS features and OnStar features have been a plus for us, as well.
Cons
I wish it had more storage room. We get along fine with the space it has, but I could definitely benefit from more cargo space. I also wish it had an HDMI port for the kids to be able to play video game systems, but we have found a way around it with adapters. It is just not as convenient.
2006 Chevrolet Tahoe - Reliable Spacious SUV
I have had my Tahoe for almost ten years and (knock on wood) I haven't had any major mechanical problems with it. It has been reliable and has never broken down. The car has had an electrical problem since I bought it, and no one (including the Chevy dealer) has been able to fix it. It doesn't affect the way the car drives, but it means that I always have at least a couple of lights out. The interior has held up well over time despite having dirt, makeup, coffee, and you-name-it spilled on it. The front seats are large and roomy, but the back two rows are very uncomfortable. Since I have always had long commutes to work and school, I love that this car is huge and has a ton of space for me to keep extra clothes, makeup, overnight bags, etc. The paint and exterior plastic has not he... Story
I used this car to camp at Coachella a few years ago. We couldn't afford to get a hotel room, and none of my friends had camping gear, so we rented a camp spot and then parked my car in it instead of pitching a tent. After removing the third row seats and folding down the second row, three of us slept relatively comfortably for three nights.
Pros
1. Reliable
2. Spacious
3. Suspension (I like the feel of a truck suspension)
Cons
1. Gas
2. Electrical issues
3. Brakes
