1999 Chevrolet Tahoe - Great family truck.
My family loves our Tahoe. We regularly use it to get up into the mountains for a weekend adventure and it has never failed so far. Plenty of space for me, my wife, son, and two dogs, plus all our gear in the back. We also use the roof rack to carry our kayaks with ease. When we head to the lake it has no trouble pulling our 4000 lb. sailboat and trailer. We also use it as a daily driver, couldn't be happier with how well its held up over the years with just regular on schedule maintenance. The 5.7 350 has been bullet proof for us. This Tahoe has seen some decent off-roading and as well as up to 2 feet deep stream crossings, and has not left us stuck or stranded yet.
Story
We took it through a stream two feet deep and 40 feet wide, now my son is convinced it can go anywhere.
Pros
Large Size. Push button 4x4. Better weight distribution than pick-up for snow driving. Tows just as much as a half ton pick-up. IFS makes for a smooth ride. Reliable as gravity.
Cons
Can get poor fuel economy ~ 14-15 mpg. Getting to be a pretty old model, finding low mileage one's can be difficult.
2002 Chevrolet Tahoe -
The Chevrolet Tahoe has been a lifesaver. It has so much space inside and feels so sturdy that I am confident I can drive in any weather and on any terrain. My wife and I have taken many weekend trips in it across the country and still at 250,000 miles it runs smooth as ever.
Story
Once my wife and I took it to Lake Powell and camped out in the Tahoe, and even in the heat, we could stay cool by keeping the cargo door open. We even were able to tie down some kayaks and paddle boards on top.
Pros
The Tahoe can very easily convert from a seven seater to a five seater or even just a two seater with the back seats laid flat. The cargo door also make for easy access to the trunk. and the roof racks work well for any kind of cargo carrier or bike rack.
Cons
The 2002 Tahoe doesn't have any aux cable input or Bluetooth, but that is to be expected for a car from over a decade and a half ago.
