2002 Chevrolet Suburban - It's big but I love it!
I love this vehicle because it is huge and quite powerful. You can feel like the master of the roads in one of these. It might cost a little extra to fill up the tank, but a full tank in this thing will take you hundreds of miles away. This vehicle is great for large families or packing in friends for a road trip.
Story
I have gone on many road trips in this vehicle and they are always fun. I am always impressed with the amount of stuff I can fit into its cargo hold.
Pros
My favorite feature of the Suburban is the power of the engine. You may be surprised about the responsiveness of the accelerator on such a large truck. It will tow large trailers and boats as well as seat 9 people for a really fun time.
Cons
The parts needed for repairs are a little more expensive than other trucks I have owned, but the quality seems to be worth it. The large engine, though powerful, burns a lot of fuel in the city. This shouldn't be most people's everyday driver.
2016 Chevrolet Suburban - It is worth every penny
What I love most about the Suburban is that is it not only stylish and rugged but it gets good gas mileage compared to the size of the truck. We added the DVD package and recommended it to anyone with kids. It has saved us so many times when we take long road trips. The interior materials feel as though they're made out of high quality products and seem to be able to withstand the beating that a family of seven does to it. Speaking of size, the interior is large enough to accommodate my family of seven and our two VERY large dogs.
Story
We went to a beach house last summer for vacation and my husband thought it would be a great idea to see if the Surburban could drive on the sand....I yelled at him and told him to not even try it, I went inside to feed the baby and next thing I see the truck going down the beach.... :o) to my surprise it didn't get stuck and performed amazing on the sand.
Pros
Some major pro's are the size, gas mileage (in relation to size), the stylish exterior and the roomy interior. The DVD package with the pulldown screen is a home run. Also, with regards to the backup camera, I don't know how I ever had a truck without it before. I'm the worst parker and it helps so much!
Cons
The only negative aspect I have found with the Suburban is that there is only one electric outlet in the second row. When you have 5+ kids with their iPads and computers, more outlets are needed.
