This has been a wonderful car. I do a lot of driving, and my Chevy Sonic has performed better than I had hoped. It's a Hatchback, 2013 model. Even though it's only two years old, I have put 150,000 miles on it already, and expect to his 200,000 sometime in the middle of next year. This car has gone all of those miles with no rattles, no maintenance problems, and is performing like it did when I drove off the lot. I get excellent gas mileage (38 miles per gallon). It runs off of the less expensive fuel, and I have been more than pleased with it. I could not ask for a better little car. The storage room at first bothered me, but I learned quickly that I can fold down the seats and I can get just about anything in there. I even haul my push mower around in my car from one house to another... (more)
Story
Because it is a compact car, I can fit almost anywhere. While taking my car out to town, I stopped by Home Depot. They had some tents set out in their parking lot for display. I was able to drive my little compact car right up under one of the display tents. Therefore, on a boiling hot summer day, I was the only car in the lot with shade!
Pros
My favorite feature about this vehicle is that it is much roomier than I thought it would be. I don't feel boxed in. I feel like I have plenty of room to stretch out, and my 6'4" husband can fit in the car without a problem. Also, the gas mileage has been a huge bonus. The fact that I've gone over 150,000 miles with no problems is the biggest pro I can think of. This is obviously a well-built little car. There are no rattles, and the only major work I've had to have done in all that time is replace the timing belt, which would be done on any vehicle.
Cons
While the car is roomie up front, there's not a lot of room in the back. I don't have children, but if I have my nieces or nephews with me, they don't have much leg room (especially the teens). I like to do a lot of shopping, and if I have my family with me, I don't have much room for purchases, so that's been a slight con for the car. But as I said, I usually don't have them with me, so I can fold the seats down and go.

I really like this car, for the most part. It drives smoothly and had a good amount of space for a small car. It also gets good gas mileage, and has a digital display which actually tells you how many miles you have until empty, which adjusts automatically based on your driving habits (i.e., if you use it in a city, primarily drive on highways, etc.). However, I have had a lot of problems with the tires on this car, and the originals had to be replaced due to factory defect shortly after I bought the car. My tire pressure light comes on every couples of months, but sometimes I'll take the car in to get the tires looked at and there's nothing wrong with them, so probably it's just a problem with the computer system in the car. In the long run, it doesn't bother me much. A turbine in my ... (more)
Story
Drove it from Arizona to Wisconsin and back, which was a bit of an adventure. Had most of my belongings in the car (I was planning to move up to WI, but it didn't work out) and hit some nasty weather storms on the way. The car handled it well though, and the weather didn't really affect my ability to drive it.
Pros
Drives smoothly, digital display system, roomy trunk and backseat area, good gas mileage, easy handling.
Cons
Two instances of factory defects, problem with tire pressure light constantly coming on, not great for tall people to drive.

The 2012 Sonic is a great sub compact car by Chevrolet. The sonic comes in two engine sizes, the 1.4 turbo and the 1.8l Ecotec. The car I own has a solid 1.8 Ecotec which averages around 28-31 miles real world MPG. The sedan has a very large trunk which could probably fit three to four large suitcases. Some of the features that the LTZ has is both heated seats and heated mirrors. It also comes with an automatic start which is great for those cold days when you need to heat the car. The Sonic also comes with Sirius satellite which offers you a large amount of channels to go with your normal AM/FM radio. The Sonic also comes with OnStar for vehicle diagnostic and for emergency calls. The radio and Bluetooth features are all mounted on the steering wheel as well as the cruise control. A... (more)
Story
Took this car out on a dirt road although it sate low it ran quite well. People in their 4x4s were looking at me like I was strange but you have to do what you have to do. I wanted to make it to my camping area
Pros
The USB port, steering wheel controls. The great gas mileage. A lot of tech built into this small vehicle. The heated seats and mirrors. The large trunk.
Cons
The space between the front and back seat is way too small. The USB port location should be in the center console, can be a pain to open glove compartment to plug in your electronics, although I understand why they did this. The engine is a little under-powered. The price of the car is very good for the amount of tech that is built into it.
