This is the best truck I've ever owned. I chose to spend the extra money for the Duramax Diesel and Allison Transmission and it was the best decision I've ever made. It is so solid and can pull anything. It has some major get up and go and has been the most reliable truck I've ever owned. I plan to keep this one forever.
Story
Shortly after purchasing the truck my husband and I drove a couple hours from our home and bought our children a new horse. So we hooked up the trailer and went to fetch their surprise. The truck pulled the trailer beautifully and it was a memorable day.
Pros
The biggest pro would be the Duramax diesel engine on my Chevrolet Silverado. The Allison Transmission adds to the soundness of the truck. It is beautiful and I've had no problems with it. It's been the most reliable truck I've ever owned and is one I'd recommend to anyone. In my opinion, it is also the sharpest looking truck produced to date. It's got nice clean lines and performance to boost.
Cons
The biggest drawback would be the price tag. If you're looking for a solid truck but, like many, can't afford spending close to $80,000 on a vehicle, I'd recommend looking at a used Chevy truck. Other than the price there really aren't any cons I can think of.

Our 2006 Chevy Silverado is an amazing truck. We've had it for over 10 years and still have not hit 100,000 miles. It's just getting broken in! It has never let us down. It has taken us to the lake and the desert and hauled a trailer, a boat and everything in between. We're looking forward to at least another 10 years with it.
Story
We were at a gas station the other day and a guy walked up and told us that he has the same truck/same year with over 250,000 miles and has never had a problem. He said he pulls trees out of the ground with a chain with no problem while people watching don't believe it can be done. Pros
The Silverado has a strong diesel turbo engine which has never had an issue. The ride is the best I've ever had in a truck. Our truck is lifted 6 inches with oversize tires and it's still a smooth ride. There is plenty of room for 6 adults to travel long distances comfortably.
Cons
I have nothing at all negative to say about this vehicle. Honestly I cannot find anything whatsoever.
