The Duramax Diesel is very powerful! For a large truck, fuel mpg is good. The Allison transmission shifts very smoothly.
Story
I own a small business and bought a new piece of machinery in Atlanta, GA. Instead of having it freighted, I pulled a heavy duty trailer 5 hours to Atlanta and hauled my 8,000 lb. lathe home with my 2500HD. No problem running 80 mph down the interstate with a load.
Pros
The Duramax Diesel provides plenty of power to pull or haul anything the truck suspension is able to haul. For such a large, heavy vehicle, the ride is pretty smooth.
Cons
My 2500HD Duramax is 2wd. If the ground is the slightest bit damp, do not leave the pavement or you will be pulling it out of the mud.

I love the way it handles in bad weather and icy roads. The engine provides great torque and pulling power. I can pull pretty much anything that I want. It is a horrible gas guzzler though. Great overall truck, I would recommend it for anybody who needs a work truck.
Story
I went mudding for the first time in this truck.
Pros
Great tires, I love the cloth seats. The heater works better than any other truck I have owned. I have a rhino lined bed liner for the bed of my truck that protects my truck from anything I throw into it. The paint color is amazing. It also is super resilient and hasn't started chipping or peeling at all. The transmission is still running well even after 70 thousand miles.
Cons
It costs a fortune in gas. It is bulky and often very hard to park. People often ask me to help them move things, which would never happen if I owned a car. It also has very large side mirrors.
