I have the 2500HD Duramax Diesel Silverado. It is an excellent truck, extremely tough and dependable. The overall power is more than sufficient for towing a 30' trailer or a 26' wakeboard boat up a hill. The long bed gives enough room to pack up for a weekend of camping, with plenty of room for the dogs to roam in the back. Gas mileage is much better than most of the trucks I have driven in the past, though it is not a Prius! There has been no significant issues with the engine, as long as our routine care is kept up. My main issues have been with tires, which says nothing for the actual truck!
Story
We were towing a long boat, driving down the highway. When it came to get off the highway, we had to take a sharp turn. The turning radius was so good we almost cut the corner too close. Thankfully the steering is so good in the truck, we corrected it before doing damage to the sidewalk.
Pros
I am very impressed with the power the truck retains when towing anything. There is no lag or sluggishness. The steering turns on a dime, which for a crew cab long bed, that is saying a lot! My favorite feature is the long bed. It gives us so much space for storage and also for our canine companions to roam about.
Cons
The gas mileage is about 18mpg highway when not towing, which is not amazing. When towing it goes down to about 12-14 mpg depending on what we are towing. Also, sometimes it feels the air conditioning is working too hard when we are towing, so we have to turn it off.

Great truck, minimal issues, regular wear and tear, drives great, pulls trailer.

We have traveled with this vehicle and a travel trailer across the country and back with minimal issues.
Pros
Pulls weight, long haul, distance driver, solid motor.

Regular wear and tear such as brakes, crack in glass but only cosmetic no leak.
