I was skeptical about owning a Chevrolet at first. I was mistaken. This truck is really made tough. It has a huge towing capacity (up to 10,000 pounds). I like that when we use it to tow our boat or another vehicle, you cannot really tell that you are towing anything. Most vehicles pull and use a lot of gas. Not the Silverado. The engine is so quiet when you crank it, you can rarely tell that it is on, and that is not normal for a V8 engine. The only down fall is that ( as with any Chevy) it always has catalytic converter issues right around the 100-thousand mile mark. That is the only work I have ever had to do to my truck. It is a tough truck, nothing has ever broke down on it. A lot of people told me that it would begin leaking around the back windows, but of course, I have not had ... (more)
Story
As I said, we have four-wheel drive on our truck, and we tend to use it a lot. Not just for towing or pulling vehicles out of ditches. When we first got this truck, we were so happy that we took it to my parents house to show them. It just happens that day my dad was trying to pull up some deep palmetto roots off his property. Unfortunately, his truck could not do it, its tires would just turn... (more)
Pros
The best about this Silverado is that it came with "suicide doors." We needed something tough but something for a family, as well. We have plenty of room in the truck, a full backseat with two half doors. My favorite thing is the fact that it has multiple-zone climate control. If my kids get cold with the A/C running, I do not have to fully turn off the A/C, I just turn it off from the back, and it is still blowing in the front. Our truck also came with four-wheel drive. It is amazing. We get a lot of rain here, and people get stuck on back roads, and we like to help our local police offic... (more)
Cons
Like most Chevy's, the catalytic converters do typically go bad at about 100,000 miles. It is a costly fix, about 700.00 to fix the problem. However, once you fix that problem, it's like a brand new truck. I also did not like how high up the truck is. Our truck has no lift kit on it, but it is still a pain to get in and out, but that can easily be corrected by adding on a side step to the vehicle. The typical gas mileage for a truck like this is about 20 miles to the gallon on the highway. I do think they could do better than that, but I also know of some cars that get way less than that.

My initial thoughts about this vehicle were mixed. I went outside the box and chose to get a Pearl White color and feel that I made the best choice. From day one I have received nothing but compliments on how beautiful my vehicle looks. The interior was designed with two-tone leather and accents the exterior color beautifully. I really enjoy having the ability to connect my phone to my vehicle and send directions to the in-dash navigation system. The truck rides like a car and takes bumps quite smoothly. It rides like a car and performs like a truck. I have yet to have any major issues with the vehicle. I am pleased with the gas mileage I get with a large tank. The vehicle is a great example of American craftsmanship, and I would not purchase another foreign vehicle.
Story
There was a time where I really wanted to put my truck through the motions. I found an area that was not really populated during a weekend, and I ran some various speed and maneuverability tests with the truck. Not being a professional, I was aware that it was a dangerous task, but I really enjoyed it, because I feel I was really able to get a true feel of what the truck is really capable of.
Pros
Some of my top features in this vehicle are the driver assist system, the heated and air conditioned seats, the individual climate control, and the sun roof. I am extremely happy with the OnStar services provided in this vehicle. Chevrolet and On Star make service and regular maintenance a breeze. I get e-mails on a monthly basis showing me what areas of my vehicle need attention as well as advising me when my oil needs to be changed.
Cons
Some of my top negatives with the vehicle are that I cannot scan through all of my satellite radio channels through my steering wheel buttons. I can only scan through my saved channels. I am also unhappy that there are no heated mirror option in this model. I get every other option except a heated mirror option. I would think that a side view mirror with directional displays would have heat in them. It is quite annoying when winter weather comes through, and I cannot defrost my side view mirrors.

The truck has an excellent build and drives as if it was brand new. It drives as smooth as a car and feels like you’re just gliding down the road. It sounds great, not too loud but it definitely packs a punch. It is strong enough to haul just about anything you could need to haul. It has very comfortable leather seating and can sit up to four people in it. The air conditioning is very strong and the heat lasts forever. The motor is very strong and can withstand a very hard beating. The bed lining of the truck is made out of some very tough material and avoids cracking. The overall durability of the truck is very nice. It is a very sharp design for a truck compared to the newer trucks which have a funky look to them. It will not disappoint you as you drive it for years, because this tru... (more)
Story
Mud riding in the truck, it can glide through and avoiding getting stuck.
Pros
Leather seating, four door, great ac, four wheel drive, great heating in the truck as well, it has a motor that will last for a lifetime, the transmission always seems to put along, it heats up really fast in the winter as well. The AC gets cold extremely fast. The belts and hoses seem like they are made to last a very long time. I’ve never had a cracked mirror or glass in this truck after fifty thousand miles as well.
Cons
Paint will chip if not waxed, alternator went bad on me early on. There are not many cons with this truck as long as you keep the oil changed and test around your pipes to makes sure everything is in good order.
