2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - It is a Vehicle
I am not a car person. I purchased this vehicle to get me from point A to point B and to have the ability to haul some items around. It has done a great job getting me around and moving things as I would like it to. This is a no frills vehicle, as it has manual locks and windows. It has a fair amount of road noise, so it is not like riding in luxury.
Story
My memory sucks. The only things I remember are being in a few crashes which are not really fun, and the neighbor pushing his bike into it, so that it put a nice dent in the side.
Pros
It got me from point A to point B. It has held together fairly well. The driver side outside mirror will not hold in place any longer, but the truck is seventeen years old, so I cannot expect things to last forever. It is still going after seventeen years, so it appears to be a fairly durable vehicle. I do not really have many bad things to say about it as far as standard operation goes.
Cons
The gas mileage is not great at about 18 miles per gallon. A few years after I got it, it had problems with the coolant. I had to get that replaced, and ever since the gas gauge no longer works. I have to keep a log of when I filled up the tank so that I know when to go back as to not run out of gas.
2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 -
Good little truck. It gets from A to B. Looks good in white with dark tint, but I do wish I had the 4x4 model. I absolutely love my 2003 Silverado. Since I got the truck, I have had zero problems with it. It has not needed go to the shop. It is a strong runner. I can tow just about anything without difficulty. It is also very, very fun to drive, and it is great on gas. A truly fantastic vehicle. If you are thinking of buying a truck, I would absolutely suggest getting a Chevy. Chevy has been making trucks for a long time. My dad had this truck before I had it, and he feels the same way about Chevy as I do. At 170,000 miles now, this truck runs like new. The 4.8 motor has plenty of power and still gets upwards of 22mpg -- although it doesn't do as well in town driving (maybe 14-15 mpg).... (more)
Story
I enjoy going to the park or lake and just sitting on the tailgate taking in the sunshine with a couple of friends.
Pros
I love being able to haul stuff. It makes me feel more like a man.
Cons
It's a little bouncy when going over rough roads because of the light back half of the truck bed.
