2009 Chevrolet Malibu - Reliable and attractive
Despite being an older vehicle, my Malibu has held up really well. I bought it years ago from my grandparents who were the first owners of the car and barely drove it. I've probably put 100k miles on it since then, and it still drives well, has never needed any major maintenance, and has never broken down on me. There are no rattles in the interior, the seats have held up nicely, and though it's definitely outdated at this point technology-wise, I don't feel like I'm missing out on much in this vehicle. Regular oil changes and checkups are all I really need to maintain this car, and of course little things like brake lights, etc.
Story
I drove this vehicle from where I lived in Illinois to where I live now in Texas. That was a long, long drive to do in one sitting, but I was moving to start a new chapter in my life. I'll never forget when I reached Dallas/Fort Worth for the first time, and even though I was sitting in traffic all those years ago and anxious to get to my new apartment after so many hours in the car, I felt th... Pros
Since it's an older car, I have a cassette-to-aux cable setup, which is honestly a novelty at this point, and it works really well! I love that this car has held up so well, all the window motors still work, it drives just fine, and keeps me moving. I also love that I have a cargo net in the trunk--that's a small feature but makes a big difference to me while shopping.
Cons
It's an old car. When I eventually go to sell it or trade it in, I won't get much out of it despite being well cared for. While I find some of the older features (cassette player!) charming, I do wish I had Bluetooth in the car, so I could take phone calls while I'm driving long distances. Also, the color has never suited me, I would not have personally picked a gold paint job but that's not a huge con, just personal preference. I also wish the gas mileage was better. I think it's gotten a bit worse over time.
2005 Chevrolet Malibu - This vehicle has been a great purchase and has made my life easier.
I have had this car for over 5 years and it has served me very well. Even though it was over 140,000 miles, this car has still been in great shape. By now, many people I know have had to put in a lot of money to fix their cars and luckily this car has only had trouble with common maintenance such as oil and tire changes. It has been a very reliable vehicle and has been driven for long periods of time before without giving me much trouble. It also has great trunk space. As a musician, I rely on this vehicle to carry my equipment and it all fits in the car as well as in the trunk. Fuel economy is very sustainable as well and gets a good amount of miles to the gallon which has made road trips in this vehicle a breeze.
Story
I once took this vehicle to the beach and it did well on the sand. We were able to sit in the car and watch the sunset by the ocean.
Pros
One of the Pros is fuel economy, I can get through long distances with a full tank no problem. Another Pro is trunk and car space. The other is reliability in regards to how many miles it has and how long I have driven it. I also enjoy the car isn't very bulky, and makes parking/ driving easier.
Cons
One of the Cons for this vehicle is that the CD player has stopped working and there is no AUX input, making it difficult to listen to music that I like without an FM Transmitter. Another Con is that there is a electric issue that has been slowly getting worse as time goes on (battery drains easily), but so far it has been doing okay.
