2011 Chevrolet Malibu - A good car
It is a nice comfortable car. It's a midsize car so it's not big or too small. A four-door sedan, automatic transmission, front-wheel drive. Nice looking and easy to maintain. It has power windows, rear defrost. Also has power mirrors, remote trunk release. It has power steering, power door locks and AM/FM Stereo. It has cloth interior. What I don't like is I don't have a sunroof. It's an all-around great vehicle. I have had no major issues whatsoever, and that makes me very happy.
Story
I had to attend a workshop in Chicago last summer. Since I live in Wisconsin, it made sense to drive down. When you drive places, you can always stop and do other thing along the way. You can take pictures but also buy things you probably should not. Driving to the lakefront on a warm Sunday afternoon is always a fun and pleasant thing to do.
Pros
My favorite features are the power windows and locks. Also, the rear window defrost. I like the four doors for passengers; it's much easier.
Cons
It feel the trunk could be a little bigger, but that's just my thought.
2000 Chevrolet Malibu - A test of patience and wealth.
I bought this car used, six years old with 62,000 miles already on it. It was a comfortable car and I felt safe driving it in reasonable weather conditions. I installed snow tires in winter, as the car certainly didn't have the weight to handle the ice and snow of a Midwest winter without getting stuck. I really appreciated the full pass-through trunk and took advantage of it fairly often. Mileage came to about 22-25 mpg when city driving conscientiously, 25-28 freeway. It responded well enough on the freeway, but it didn't blow anyone out of the water.
Within a year I paid 900 for repairs of an issue with oil leaking into the coolant reservoir, which would have been free for the previous owner to repair if he had been aware of the defect. The car ran fine for the next four years wit... (more)
Pros
My favorite feature of the Malibu was the spacious trunk, with pass-through. I had to move a lot of tools and building materials, and this car let me avoid renting a van or truck many times.
Cons
I didn't appreciate the defect leaking oil into the coolant; the repair was $900 to have done and it shook my confidence in the car's durability. Also, it was particularly difficult to change the headlight lamps.

It's close to home. I know the owners personally and they worked with me on the price.
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt - Wheelers Automotive Marshfield
I got online price quotes from the Chevrolet website and Wheelers gave me the best price.
