Chevrolet Impala Owner Ratings & Reviews

2006 Chevrolet Impala - The best simple, reliable, affordable, and boring car in the U.S.
I got one at 55k and mine is now 120k.
I've done few repairs on it, air filter, power steering, pinion and rack (which I may not have needed that badly or may have happened from an incident), and that's it. Well, tires, but that's something else right?
Mileage is average, I get 21-22 with 30% stop-and-go.
It's a big car, it feels a little like driving a truck or SUV. Speed is decent, GM has apologized insanely for this car and so there should be no fear in buying one. The recall work is either done or not needed at this point, if it still is you'll find out quickly.
Power steering is lame, has its share of duds, but if you find a solid one drive it into the ground! There is a reason you're going to see 1,000 of these still on the road 5 years from now. Toyota + Honda of the 90s = ... (more)
Story
One time I cleaned this thing and it had some miscellaneous effects from me and my wife.
I took out 3 small bags of garbage and two trips' worth of stuff. Just from the interior! It is deceptively big inside.
Pros
Parts are cheap.
Reliable.
Cost compared to other types is way lower compared to a Fusion or Japanese car. The demand just doesn't justify it.
Child seat connections in all 3 spots. That's right, you can hypothetically have 3 child seats in the back.
Big compartment between both front seats, it serves as an armrest and fits a ton of crap inside. Not obvious to thieves either.
Has huge seat pockets for the backseat.
Trunk space is decent, it narrows towards the back. Can fit a big stroller and a medium box in it at the same time.
Cons
Power steering is looped differently so that it goes in the back, making it longer. I figure there's at least a 50% chance it needs replacing once or twice by 120k, and the aftermarket parts for it suck.
It's a little too big for some people. An import or even a Fusion might be less awkward if you're not comfortable with tight spaces + bigger cars.
2011 Chevrolet Impala - Worthless.
I am not at all satisfied with being so low to the ground. My personal preference is something taller and more apt to go up a mountain.
Story
Someone once nearly crashed into me and then flipped me off while yelling "worthless cheve."
Pros
I like that it fits in our small garage and that its safe and has all good parts that don't need to be replaced.
Cons
The cost to get things fixed are ridiculous and I wish it got better gas per mile. I also think it needs a better stock stereo.
