Because I commute to work, I really like the gas mileage my car gets. It's usually 30-35 mpg, even in city traffic. Six cylinders make it a speedy car. I bought it used from a relative who kept the car in excellent shape. Plus, the mileage is quite low compared to how old it is. The interior is fairly plush and a nice grey color that cleans up well.
Story
My car and I have made many, many commutes for graduate school and my jobs. One of my favorite moments with my car was driving back country roads early spring/summer mornings. The sun was coming up, I was listening to a podcast, and my car felt so safe on the windy back roads. Plus, dealing with less morning traffic is always pleasant.
Pros
The top three best aspects of my car are the gas mileage, the sound system, and the engine. The gas mileage is excellent for a commuter car and despite traveling to and from the city every day, I only need to fill up every week or week and a half. The sound system is very good for a ten-year-old car. I haven't needed or wanted to update the speakers or subwoofer since purchasing it. The sound is clear, and there is an option for CD and an auxiliary cable for phones or mp3 players. Compared to my previous car, this one has some serious get-up-and-go. Cons
Its flashy red color. I wouldn't personally have chosen, but the car was a very good deal. The body of the car is quite long and can be an adjustment to get used to, especially parking in tighter spots. You really have to watch scraping the front undercarriage.

I purchased this car from a dealership. I loved the way it handled when I did the test drive. I had researched other vehicles and was intent on getting a small car. I did test drive a few smaller cars but kept going back to the Impala. It had the sleek look and room I loved. It also gave me the feeling of a more expensive car. Her name is Bella!
Story
The Impala has been with me thru two husbands and 4 moves. It was much more dependable than either husband! I was astounded how much I could pack into the back seat & trunk. I moved from West Virginia to Kentucky then 3 different moves in Kentucky. My sister and I both drove this car for 6 months putting 60 miles a day on it with no problems. I cherish it like a dear friend.
Pros
I have used it as a work car as well as on long trips. The gas mileage is very good. It is a great ride and on long trips is a breeze to drive. My car is now 8 years old and looks like new. Regular oil changes have kept repairs to a minimum. Tires seem to last longer on the impala than other cars I have owned. I would definitely buy another Impala if the chance arises.
Cons
It uses larger tires which are quite expensive. The heater has never worked well. I have had it checked numerous times but it still takes a long time to warm inside. The trunk is small for a car this size.
