Chevrolet Equinox Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2015 Chevrolet Equinox - The Chevy Equinox gives a solid ride.
The Equinox has a solid look to it. It has nice lines and the gold paint job and black interior are a nice match from the factory. Inside, everything is within easy reach for the driver to assist in keeping one's eyes on the road. The back seat offers plenty of room for average-sized passengers to feel comfortable. In addition the center portion of the seat lowers to offer a hand rest and drink holders for two. The vehicle is also capable of being used to transport larger items by lowering the rear seat and, if needed, the front passenger seat for longer items.
Story
While this vehicle is not four-wheel drive rated, we had to take the vehicle off road after doing some exploring of "lesser-used" ways to get to a common destination. This included having to drive past several cattle on a single lane road butting up against a sheer drop-off.
Pros
The pros for this vehicle are its comfortable ride and surprising get up and go for a four cylinder engine. The fuel economy is good. I'm averaging about 30 mpg. Considering that I live in a rural community and a drive to shopping and/or entertainment is at least 40 minutes away, this has been a major plus for my family and me. The drivers console is easy to use and has everything that the driver needs to keep his or her attention on the road. On the steering wheel itself, the driver can start, stop and adjust the cruise control, flip through pre-set stations on the radio and, lastly, star... (more)
Cons
The things I don't like about the Equinox are minimal and, some may consider petty, but I mention them here for thoroughness. For instance, the front end has a low hanging profile that gets caught on almost any size parking bumper created by man. I have hit this so many times, in fact, that the interior support finally broke off and is now sitting my garage. The outer portion remains and I was able to jury rig it to be reinserted back into the frame itself without it being obvious. The center console is a little awkward to get into, requiring either the driver or front passenger to lean to... (more)
2013 Chevrolet Equinox - An excellent economy SUV
This has been one of the best SUVs I have owned. The car has a large body that allows me to haul an additional four passengers, or I can let the seats down to haul cargo. I have used my car to tote a washer, a dryer, and even a mattress and box spring set. The vehicle is excellent for driving in town or on the highway, and it gets excellent gas mileage. I can fill up as little as once every two weeks without worrying about using my fuel before my work week is finish. The car offers on board OnStar, emergency services, and Bluetooth commands on the steering column. I am happy with the electric windows, locks, and doors and prefer them over my old manual car. This SUV handles like a car, but puts me up high like a truck. It's a smooth ride and I often forget that I am driving a larger SU... (more)
Story
When I was moving, it was difficult to find a moving van. I eventually decided to try to use my car. Some buddies and I figured out a way to get a couch sideways in the back and we hung large orange flags from the car. I was the girl driving around town in the small SUV hauling a full-sized couch. We had a lot of laughs, and tons of people honked and waved at us for our ingenuity.
Pros
The vehicle has all-wheel drive that allows for snow driving with ease. The SUV also has folding seats that make toting items easier. The backseat has a bar that allows adjustments so you can pull car seats forward or move them backwards. The back also offers cargo space, a slot for netting, and the ability to have a luggage storage and laundry rack. The onboard OnStar system makes me feel safe, and I have used it on my way to the hospital - instant connection. The Bluetooth and volume controls on the steering column allow for a safer drive and hands-free driving. The fuel economy allows m... (more)
Cons
The vehicle will automatically unlock itself multiple times if you try to lock the doors while you are inside with the key fob. The car seems to struggle if you have to go up a steep hill at high speeds, such as on a changing interstate. It's easy to accidentally turn traction control on and off because it's near the gear shifter.
