2013 Chevrolet Equinox - Comfortable, but suburban.
This is a good vehicle for a family. It can comfortably hold five people and a fair amount of cargo. It comes with more options than most of the comparable crossovers. The fuel mileage is great, and the ride is smooth. The engine is nothing to write home about, but it is what you would expect for the vehicle (V6 model). The sound system is passable but not great. The interior is quite lovely, and it is a comfortable ride.
Story
I recently sold my Jeep Wrangler for this vehicle. While not as "fun" as a Wrangler, I have loved the storage. I recently moved to a new house, and had to take the belongings that didn't go in the moving truck, plus my newborn, to the new place. I never knew how much stuff infants have to cart around with them, but I was impressed to see that it can carry my infant, his accessories, and a ton ... (more)
Pros
The heated seats are very comfortable, and easy to adjust. The Bluetooth is reliable and easy to connect. The fuel mileage, especially for the FWD, is pretty good, especially when ECO mode is enabled. The A/C works very well, and the temperature is easy to control. The steering is good, and the turning radius is nice. The backup camera is easy to see and works well. Cargo space in the back is quite spacious, and can comfortably hold a fair amount of belongings. The easy connect system for child seats is a very nice bonus if you have children.
Cons
The engine is underwhelming. The rear main seal is known to have issues, especially in colder climates. The electronic MyLink system is not really as customizable as I'd like. The microphone for phone calls does not filter out the outside noise as well as it should. The plastic trim is pretty easy to knock loose.
