2013 Chevrolet Equinox - Very reliable vehicle
I've owned this car for about three years and have had very few issues with it during that time. I bough it used with about 140,000 miles on it. It starts and runs great. Never any trouble. It has a remote start, which is a nice feature and a back-up cam which I've become much too reliant on. The size of the car is perfect for my needs. I love that I have enough space for luggage and two adult bikes if need be.
Story
We live near Lake Michigan and have packed our Equinox full of beach towels, snacks, beach chairs, and games countless times heading to the lake. It can hold a lot of stuff and up to five people!
Pros
Attractive interior and exterior. Bluetooth and back-up cam with touchscreen. Great sound system. Reliable and safe when driving.
Cons
The back-up cam randomly will quit working every once in a while and start working again just as randomly. This has been going on since I purchased the vehicle.
2011 Chevrolet Equinox - The joys of a 2011 Equinox
Overall, I am pleased with the Equinox. The vehicle is very dependable, especially living in Michigan in the winter. It is ideal for a family because of the space in the very back. However, I have the four cylinder, and the car is simply too heavy for that size. I would not purchase or recommend anything less than a V6. I would also prefer a more luxurious model.
Story
Driving from home to Traverse City to see family with our family of four. It was roomy, enjoyable, and reliable.
Pros
Semi-large in size. Family friendly. Eco-friendly. Affordable to fix. The shape of the vehicle is very nice. Automatic windows. Larger tires. Good for the winter. Holds pretty decent in an accident (minimal damage when I accidentally backed in to someone).
Cons
Cloth interior. Too heavy for a four cylinder. Kind of a gas hog. Has a fuel pump issue (this was part of a recall on all 2011s). Not fully loaded. Can only use Dexos oil, which is more costly.
