2005 Chevrolet Equinox - Good Small SUV
The Chevy Equinox is a well-built vehicle.
It has not needed any major repairs to date.
It is a solid and dependable car.
The gas mileage is very good.
Great native sound system.
Story
My daughter had a birthday party in a small city quite a ways from our home, and we actually had to eat her cake in the car because we didn't realize the venue charged money to bring food in!
Pros
The trunk capacity is very good, much larger than expected.
I love that the trunk has a removable cover which can be used for tailgating.
The backseat also has plenty of passenger room, with an adjustable seat which can move forward or back to increase or decrease leg room.
The handling is very smooth on this car.
My favorite feature of this vehicle is the sound system, which is very good quality for being the native system.
Cons
The headrests are positioned in a strange angle which makes proper placement tricky to achieve.
The blind spots on this vehicle seem larger than on other vehicles I have driven in the past.
This vehicle does not have an automatic trunk opener which would be nice.
This vehicle uses an out of the ordinary tire size, which makes replacement rather expensive. It would be nice if the tires were more of a standard size in order to buy used when needing replacement.
2014 Chevrolet Equinox - Roomy and gas efficient
I like how the vehicle has great gas mileage. It is roomy as well as reliable. The things I dislike about this vehicle is that the oil in the car burns up pretty quickly as well as the windshield wiper linkage system on the car goes pretty easily. It is pretty costly to keep up with on repairs, but the good thing is that it is easy to do some of your own work if needed and to just buy the part and save a lot of money.
Story
The experience I had with this car is going on a hiking trip and having to go down a huge dirt road. Thankfully, my car managed very well in the rocky, muddy conditions! I feel like having an all-wheel drive car helped me when it came to going through mud!
Pros
Gas mileage. Pandora radio. OnStar and roomy.
Cons
Oil burns quickly.
