2011 Chevrolet Equinox - Great size, great features
I love the size that my car offers. My vehicle isn't too small or too big. It's great to haul mid-sized things. It offers leather seating and lots of futuristic features that I love. Overall, it is a car packed with features for a fair price, and I hate to even think about parting with it. I recommend it for all sorts of audiences, moms, business men, and young adults alike.
Story
We have taken this car to the beach many times. It always fits the things we need, although I'm sure we've gotten a load of sand in it over the many trips.
Pros
I love that my car has heated leather seats. The seats make the car feel very elite and high-end even though it's an affordable vehicle. I also enjoy the sunroof that the car offers, and it can be adjusted to a variety of positions. Although I don't take advantage of it, it offers up to date features like OnStar. The room is the biggest advantage of the vehicle. It is very spacious. As a tall driver, I need room, and I feel it is ample in this vehicle.
Cons
Being an older car, it does not have a large screen to display things like GPS or audio features like a newer car would. Although it does have a back-up camera that appears on the rear view mirror, I'd like it to be like a more modern vehicle where it appears on a screen. One last con of the vehicle would be blind spots. Due to the way the car is designed and the space it offers, there are a few blind spots. More modern technology might provide sensors to help with that or even well-positioned mirrors.
2006 Chevrolet Equinox - This vehicle is a great buy for the price for any family on a budget.
I bought my Equinox three years ago and have loved it every second. I have two small kids both in car seats and love the fact that I can put them in the car seats and still have room in the back seat for another person. The SUV gets pretty decent gas mileage for it to be a mid-sized SUV. I am extremely pleased with it.
Story
I took my Equinox up on an off-road course just to see how it would preform if the occasion ever arose that I would need to go off-roading. I took my two small children with me, and we grabbed a bucket from the back and found a blackberry patch and picked berries for three hours. We had a blast.
Pros
The cargo space behind the back seat is a huge bonus. It is great when we go on vacation. We do not have to worry about packing to much. There is always space left for souvenirs along the way. The vehicle is also equipped with traction control, so I am not worried when my wife is driving my children in rainy weather.
Cons
The was a recall on the vehicle for the ERG valve. It is a little tube on the engine. It is not a hard fix to do at home at all, but you have to take it into the dealership once you do the upgrade on the part. The dealership charges more than it cost to buy the part to flash the computer. If you don't take it in, then the check engine light will stay on forever. The only other draw back to the vehicle is the front wheel bearings are notoriously bad and have to be replaced almost every 10,000 miles.
