I really love my Chevrolet Equinox because it offers a lot of features at a reasonable price point. I wanted a spacious SUV that is not too big or too small, and the Equinox fits that exactly. It has a lot of interior space, and the cabin materials and styling is very upscale for a car that is not expensive. It looks like a much more expensive car from inside, and I only have the base model LS with no upgrades or other options. Another positive attribute of the Equinox is that if you are someone who travels with passengers in the backseats, you will love the Equinox because it is really spacious in the rear seats, and your friends/family will have a lot of legroom during long trips. For a vehicle of its size, the Equinox also gets very good gas mileage. I average about 26 miles cit... (more)
Story
I went on a trip to the beach with some of my brother's friends whom I had never met before. They were basketball players at his college and each fairly tall (at least about 6 feet 5). It was a two-hour drive, and they were in the backseat, and they kept taking about how much space they had back there because they are usually cramped with their long legs. I think that speaks to the comfort a... (more)
Pros
The top features that the Chevy Equinox has, in my view, is that it is a larger-size SUV, that is also very drivable/maneuverable, and has top-quality build and materials, especially on the interior. It is very comfortable to drive in for extended periods of time; and for passengers in the rear seats who need a lot of legroom, the Equinox has the most I have seen in a back seat. It also gets good gas mileage (26 mpg city and highway combined for me) and is enabled with OnStar and Sirius XM satellite radio with a subscription.
Cons
The only downside I can think of this car is that with the version I have, LS with base V4 engine, it is a little bit of a sluggish drive. It doesn't accelerate very quickly, and it's not sporty. It's a heavier car. I like that; but for someone who wants something with a turbo-charged engine or something peppier, the Equinox is not.

Before buying my Equinox, I had leased a few other SUVs. Both smaller and larger with third-row seating. I have had luxury SUVs and from other American auto makers, and this has been my favorite by far. It is the first car I ever bought. It's a true joy to drive! I drive about 13 miles each way to work. The Equinox handles like a dream! I really love all the features that it came with also. It does not drive like four-cylinder SUV. Has plenty of pick up, and the back seat is quite spacious.
Story
After I bought my car, everyone else seemed to get the same car! A lot of people in town must have saw the value in this car, I also did a lot of talking it up.
Pros
The car has great gas mileage. My bigger SUVs I was going through three times as much gas! The back seat is quite roomy for the size of this car, also the trunk space is nice. There are a lot of hidden compartments where you can put stuff without it rolling around. If you have kids, car seats fit really well in this car! This car is great for families despite it not having a third row!
Cons
The back middle seat is very uncomfortable. Also, I wish this car came in a six cylinder so I could tow with it. Also, I wish that the moon roof was available without a million other features. Because of the sports cloth, it is very hard to clean stains out. Also, crumbs and dirt get into the seams and is very hard to vacuum out. The carpeting also attracts pet hair like crazy! I really wish that this car came with a third-row option. It's quite large for its class and really could have it.
