I like the 2011 Chevy Equinox because it is a high quality vehicle with lots of perks. The auto Heat/AC is great, the heated seats are a great convenience in the winter time. Remote start is great in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter. It has the overall package that I wanted for an SUV. The handling and performance is good. For an SUV it has the ability to pick up and go when you want it to. It feels like a very safe vehicle although I have not had any accidents to test that out. This is a v6 all wheel drive vehicle and has never let me down in the snow or with the power the engine is able to provide for an SUV. The Equinox has great interior space without being a huge vehicle, this is a very comfortable vehicle to drive and you can have several passengers without anyone fe... (more)
Story
This vehicle has been a part of many great memories. My favorites are trips I take with my dogs and having them hang their heads out the dies windows while we travel, they love it.
Pros
The features I like in this vehicle are Sirius am radio, OnStar, sunroof, auto control drivers seat, leather seats are easy to clean. The heated seats are wonderful and I use them often in the winter time. This is a small SUV and the size is perfect. The LTZ package has chrome accents on the outside that add a more upscale look to the vehicle. I have never been disappointed with the gas mileage I have gotten. I do mostly interstate driving and have been consistently over 20 mpg average gas mileage. This vehicle has folding rear seats which have come in handy many times with hauling dogs an... (more)
Cons
Of course with age all vehicles need repairs. We have over 100,000 miles on the vehicle and have completed a couple of tune ups, the carbon builds up a little more frequently than other vehicles, this may be due to the flex-fuel capabilities of the vehicle and how the engine was tuned from the factory to have good gas mileage. We have replaced the tires one time and are nearing the time to have another set put on. This vehicle was not equipped with touch screen navigation which I would have liked but it has not proven to be a major obstacle with smartphones and the ability to get direction... (more)

The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox 1LT is an all around good car. Two engine choices are available - a 4 cylinder or a V6, as well as FWD or AWD. It is a small SUV built on a sedan platform, giving it good fuel economy and a comfortable ride as if it were a smaller car. The redesign for this model year has given it a sleek new design with a rounded shape with nice curves. The cabin is incredibly spacious and even has an adjustable back seat that slides forward and back. The trunk is very large for the size of the car, but not at the expense of making the rest of the passenger area feel cramped. The quality has held up well in the first three years - only 6 oil changes and a few other regular maintenance items have been needed to keep it running well. One disadvantage is the lack of power on th... (more)
Pros
1. Fuel economy - up to 31 MPG on the highway, which is fantastic for a SUV 2. Spaciousness - incredibly large cabin space with plenty of room in the trunk. 3. Sliding rear seat - Can be slid forward to maximize trunk storage space or slid back to maximize rear seat passenger comfort and space. 4. Seating - comfortable seating for up to 4 passengers + driver + cargo in the rear.
Cons
1. Engine performance - the 4 cylinder engine is inadequate for the car and feels sluggish at times. The V6 does not have as good fuel economy but feels better suited to the car 2. Blind spot - the large pillars in the front of the vehicle can lead to a particularly bad blind spot for the driver at certain viewing angles
