2005 Chevrolet Equinox - It's reasonably priced but kind of small.

The Equinox is a small SUV/crossover. While it is not a full-sized SUV it is convenient for transporting large items. It sits higher off of the ground than a car, yet not as high as a full-sized SUV. It rides comfortably for the most part and includes a nice sunroof for those cool sunny days. The seating area is not as spacious as I would like it to be though. There is a good amount of trunk space and the back seats lie down to provide more trunk space if needed. It gets reasonable gas mileage and has all wheel drive. It has a convenient rear windshield wiper and also has the OnStar option on the rear-view mirror. It is a great car for a small family, but if I were to recommend the vehicle I would recommend the newer models to the 2005 model as they are more comfortable and have better... (more)
Story
I really don't have any fun stories related to the vehicle. It just gets us to work and back. We did use it to move to another house though and it was rather convenient with space. We had to take a 10 foot ladder home once and it stretched from the back of the vehicle, over the back seats that were laid down and all the way up onto the arm rest between the driver seat and passenger seat. That ... (more)
Pros
The convenience of the Equinox consists of all wheel drive, automatic windows, sunroof, rear windshield wipers, the option of OnStar, the option of XM radio, a great heating and air system, spacious trunk, folding back seats that are easy to maneuver, automatic seats, plenty of cup holders, easy to read and understand manual, a plug-in outlet to charge my phone, 6 disc changer, AM/FM radio, great sounding speakers, a lot of different audio options including the option to make the radio quieter as you slow and stop and louder as you pick up speed, reasonable gas mileage, leather seats, air ... Cons
The cons of the Equinox are the lack of room in the cabin, it just feels real tight and can get a little claustrophobic at times. I've been in cars that have more elbow room in the cabin area. I'm not thrilled with the smallness of the car overall, I prefer a little larger SUV with more space. It doesn't have many luxuries at all, it's rather basic. I don't require a lot of luxuries but this could have a little more like a plug for an mp3 player. I bought the car used and the people that had it before me installed a custom sound system and didn't take it out or hook it up properly before t... (more)

I like my car, and I mainly like all of the features about it. I especially like the amount of car and trunk room that I have, and this has been very useful to me. I wish it was slightly more economical on gas, but I can get about a half tank for $15, which is usually good enough for me. My car does have a lot of problems with rusting and the frame, which resulted in me having to get both of my rear wheels welded back to the frame. Additionally, my key does not work to unlock the door. My hood is very hard to open, and one of the electrical plugs does not work. Although I had these issues, I believe they were the fault of the people I purchased my car from, and not a direct problem of the car itself.
Story
One fun and memorable story I had using this vehicle was to drive two hours away to a concert with my closest friends. We also often go to close by towns to go shopping or out to eat. My friends enjoy riding in my car (affectionately named Big Bertha) because it has the most space out of all of our cars. I also often sit and talk with friends in my car for hours, and I can honestly say that it... (more)
Pros
The most positive things about this vehicle are the amount of space this car has, how reliable/ well the car runs, and how well the car runs in the winter time. I also enjoy the fact that it doesn't take long to accelerate since I often drive quickly.
Cons
The most negative things that I experienced with this vehicle were the issues with the rear wheels and the hood of the car. I am also not a big fan of the light colored interior because the seats get dirty easily, but that could easily be fixed with seat covers. Also, the door handle of my car fell off and had to be replaced, but this was after a very serious snow storm with extreme temperatures.
