I currently own a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado crew cab, 4WD, long bed with the optional 2.8L I-4 Duramax Diesel engine. All GM twins (Canyon/Colorado) are six-speed A/T. My biggest love is for this truck, and believe me -- I waited four years for this truck to hit the American market. BTW, thanks Volkswagen for putting in the speed bumps in the road for new diesel engines to come to the masses. As I was saying, I owned a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax for ten years. It was an impulse purchase. I wanted out of my old 2003 Dodge with a five-speed manual transmission standard output 5.9 Cummins and wanted something big and nice. Well, turns out big and nice doesn't always ride the best or get decent fuel economy. This big truck averaged at 12 mpg -- that's it. After age took its toll o... (more)
Story
Someone told me at the fuel station one time that I was putting diesel in a gas truck. I was like, really dude? And pointed to the Duramax badge on the side of the truck. I bet he felt like an idiot. Or he was seriously confused.
Pros
Smooth ride. GM has made an excellent design choice when making the interior cabin very quiet. It was so quiet when I picked up my new truck and drove it home, my kids completely passed out, and I was in a state of tranquility. It was amazing for me because hey, you get tired of repeating yourself twenty-seven times a day and never can truly catch a break. I like the interior styling of this truck. It is cleaner than the big brother Silverado inside, okay simpler is probably the better word. It has some of the similar configurations like the Silverado: remote start, the large Apple CarPlay... Cons
GM limits owners on the interior color options -- Chevrolet can only have black or dark ash gray. GMC Canyons have tan or "cocoa" or grey and black interior options. This probably doesn't bother the masses, but I am the major outlier in the whole statistical shot, not sure what the whole term is, I didn't fair too well in stats in graduate school. I am not the middle-aged man, most likely retired, who wants something that is fuel efficient. I don't know why GM doesn't keep up with the competition, but the new advances—like push button start, keyless entry, and LED headlights across the spe... (more)

2016 Chevy Colorado is that perfect mid-size truck. Big enough bed to haul what you need, while still getting great gas mileage for a truck. I have owned this truck from about nine months, and I enjoy driving it every time I get in it. The truck has a great feel when on the road.
Story
I recently started to get into woodworking. Before this vehicle, I had a Dodge Charger that I loved. It had the get up and go, and of course, the cool factor going for it. However, whenever I wanted to do a project, I had to call around to borrow a vehicle or at the worst, rent one. I had been looking at a truck for awhile, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to give up the Charger. I went to... (more)
Pros
Fairly competitive in the pricing department. Chevy MyLink: perhaps one of the best features of the vehicle. This Bluetooth or USB connection to your phone, along with a full color 7.1-inch screen, makes receiving calls/texts and navigational breeze. On-Star: Another standard feature that could no doubt be beneficial during an emergency. Size: I am a larger fellow, and this truck fits me perfectly. Gas mileage: About 28-30 on highway driving.
Cons
Towing capacity: The basic model does not come with a tow hitch, and the capacity is only 2,500 lbs. Engine: Although great for fuel mileage, the truck doesn't really have any get up and go. Warranty: Only get the remaining warranty on the vehicle and it is not lifetime.
