Used 2005 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale

The cons have been covered pretty heavily in the review section up above, but it's got engine issues, exhaust issues, its had bad rear cylinder issues, problems with the serpentine belt, emergency break, electronic window mechanism, a bad oxygen sensor the day I bought it, broken thermostat, and warm air conditioning. It has no rear-wheel drive option, which is great in the winter, and the brakes tend to go more often than they should. The door to the bed's handle mechanism fell apart for almost no reason whatsoever, and it needed two serpentine belts in four years. It cannot pass inspection, due to emission failures. It guzzles down gas, and it's only a five-cylinder engine, which is awful. The light bulbs blow out consistently and more frequently than I've ever seen in any other car in my entire life.

Electrical system: there have been numerous electrical system failures. The radio no longer works, and our mechanic has said that it is really not worth replacing. Tail lights and brake lights have had to be replaced more than once because of shorts. I have to have the brake lights fixed at every yearly inspection now. The air conditioner blower has failed on more than one occasion, due to issues with resistors or wiring. There are more issues besides these, but the bottom line is that the electrical system in this vehicle is bad. Passlock system: GM installs a system in their vehicles called Passlock. It is intended as an anti-theft device but is frequently triggered for no reason at all, forcing the driver to wait ten minutes to start the engine. It is inconvenient and a potential safety hazard, but due to liability issues, no reputable mechanic will bypass it. GM will not issue a recall despite widely known issues.
