2008 Chevrolet Cobalt -
I purchased this vehicle about six months ago. I have driven this vehicle for about 20,000 miles. It has some cosmetic problems, but nothing too serious. Overall, it has been reliable, except for a few times where I have had problems with the battery. Right now it has the check engine light on, but I think that is because I have to change the fuel cap. When I purchased this vehicle, I had to buy new tires. The trunk is spacious. It is a very fuel efficient vehicle. It is very average. It is a car that takes from point A to B with no luxuries. It is small and compact. I plan to get most out of this car. I purchased the car with 140,000 miles, now it has about 160,000. The design of the vehicle is basic, but it does have electric windows and cruise control.
I purchased the car for $3,000... (more)
Story
I went Christmas shopping with my wife, and we were very tired. We wanted to go home and rest, and the car battery died. We had to wait inside a Starbucks while my brother came to help us.
Pros
Reliable and fuel efficient.
Cons
Check engine light is on, too many miles, and problems with the battery.
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt - Good point
I like that the car drives well, but it has had lots of problems. The transmission has been reworked. The paint needed a new paint job within five years. The car leaked when it rain hard or went through the car wash. The inside trim accents have faded or peeled. The A/C is cold but weak. They stopped making this model car.
Story
I hit a board on the interstate on way to an interview, which gave a flat tire. I had to change on side of road in the heat. I still made it to interview...slightly sweaty.
Pros
Good gas mileage, comfy seats, rides smooth, good point A to B driver, and easy to maintain myself.
Cons
Paint job. Transmission failure. Water leak. Poor A/C. Trim inside peeling.
