2003 Chevrolet Blazer - Reliable
My vehicle is a 2003 Chevy Blazer a midsize SUV. I have had some really good experience with my blazer and also some not so good experience. The overall quality of the blazer is pretty standard. It comes with power windows, locks, and mirrors, but the seats are manual. It has a standard stereo/CD player but it does come equipped with Bose speakers which sound amazing! It also is equipped with a sun and moon roof, which is easy to open and close. I have had some problems with it in the last few years that I have owned it, but I so far have never had a problem with it not starting, so I really love the fact that it is reliable. I do not like the fact it does not have the best gas mileage, and my gas tank has a defect that causes the pump to read my tank as full so it clicks off ev... (more)
Story
We originally got the vehicle when I was pregnant with my 5th child and so getting up in to the blazer was often a challenge because it sat up higher than my car that I had. Many times I would have to have my husband come around and push me up from behind to get in. Pros
Some of the best things about the Chevy Blazer are the speakers in the sound system. They are Bose speakers and they do come standard in the vehicle. I also do like having a CD player already installed because I know many of the older vehicles that did not always come standard. The seats are cloth, and with living in Iowa where winters are below freezing, the cloth seats are a lot warmer than leather interior. I also like having a back windshield washer and wiper. Cons
The biggest negatives for me about the Chevy Blazer is the gas mileage and the defect in my gas tank. I have taken it in to be fixed and it would cost more to fix it than the value of the vehicle and while parts are cheaper and can be easily found for the vehicle, it seems that some of the maintenance and work done, costs more due to the difficulty of getting to that part. While I love the cloth seats, I also dislike them because they are harder to clean.
