This is the second Blazer I've owned. My first was a 1999, and I sold it to my boyfriend. Both cars are still going strong! The size and height are what I like best. It has enough room for a few friends and just about anything you would want to carry. I've taken it on long road trips, off roading, and all around the city. It does great in any environment.
Story
Many a night has been spent in this car camping or after a few to many at a party. I always felt comfortable that I had a tiny camper wherever I went.
Pros
I love that it's roomy without being a huge vehicle. I've picked up furniture in it. Helped friends move. Transported artwork in it. I've even slept in it on camping trips! It's a really great car.
Cons
There are a few pretty big blind spots on the car, so you really have to turn around to check them. You also have to check the fluids frequently. Both of the Blazers I owned either burned oil or coolant.

My 1997 Chevy Blazer has been a very good car considering the condition I got it in. It has needed a few major repairs. The lower control arms on both the left and right side rusted through. When this happens, the tire falls off the chassis. Fortunately, both times it happened I was parked and about to backup. Had this happened at speed it would have been a major accident. The repairs cost roughly $380 each time. I've also had to replace the sway bars due to the lower control arm failure. These cost around $10 each time, though I did the repairs myself. Replacing the u-joint gave a new life to the car, which before had a wild and rough noisy ride. This cost around $12 replacing it myself. It's at the age that cosmetic damage doesn't really matter. However, it still hides its age for th... (more)
Story
It can tackle any large hole on a dirt road just don't get stuck. I got stuck one time while delivering pizza. It was my last delivery of the night. When it gets stuck in a sandy spot, the weight of the vehicle is too much to budge.
Pros
Engine sounds and runs great.
Cons
Front suspension elements have not held up over time and have a catastrophic mode of failure.
