My review is of a yellow, 5-door hatchback Chevy Aveo. Purchased in early 2011; stopped functioning properly in the summer of 2015. The body seemed very sensitive and acquired a few dings and scratches easily. The paint was brighter on the sides than on top of the car. I believe it was due to sun damage. The interior seemed to be custom installed. It was a black cloth material. There was no seat belt in the middle back seat. I got regular scheduled maintenance performed on the vehicle. Eventually the steering wheel started shaking. When accelerating or braking, the car would jerk forward and slow; jerk forward and slow. I believe this is a problem with these models. Eventually it went away. The dashboard lights, one fog light, and the A/C went out after two years. The catalyst converte... (more)

I bought the car used and it has been very reliable. I have had a few minor issues with the vehicle. There is a small oil leak coming from somewhere I can't quite figure out. An exhaust gasket blew. Also an issue with the suspension causing my tires to bald faster than normal. All in all, these issues were to be expected as the car aged. The trim is sleek and is relatively comfortable besides backseat leg room. Trunk space is adequate. Gas mileage is really what I love about this car. It gets over thirty miles to a gallon.
Story
During a blizzard I could make it up my driveway when my friend in a similar sized car of a different brand could not.
Pros
Gas Mileage Reliability Trim
Cons
Power Leg room

2008 Chevrolet Aveo - I like it. It's something I don't plan on selling for many more years.

I like this car. It handles well, there's no issues when accelerating. It hasn't given us any problems up until recently, but that's just due to it's age and not due to manufacturer issues. I also like that it saves on gas, a lot. I usually tank it up with $20 and it lasts the whole week for me, sometimes a little bit longer, but it just depends on how much I drive it. It's also pretty spacious for being a smaller car. The trunk space is pretty good. As for what I dislike about it, I can't say that I dislike very much about it because I happen to like the car a lot. I mean, if you intend on using it for off roading or things like that then this car will give you a lot of problems. But if you use this car for it's intended purposes then it'll serve you well and it won't give you very m... (more)
Story
One memory I'll always have is when I picked up a friend so we can go out. I left my window open after parking at a gas station since I need to put some gas. We both went inside and when we came back out I found that a bird had pooped on my car, but I guess the angle was off because some of it had gotten on the drivers seat. We both laughed really hard at that because it was so unexpected.
Pros
My absolute favorite feature of the car is its gas saving ability. It's why we chose to buy it in the first place because it would've saved us so much on gas and it has so far. It also looks nice, and it handles better than one would expect. It's a car for someone who expects to get to work and back home or even to go out on the weekends. I can also see this as a bit of a family car due to its space, especially the trunk space.
Cons
The only real con I can think of is that it accelerates a little bit slower than normal because it's a lower cylinder car, and it's especially noticeable if you have the A/C on. But, that aside I don't have any real problems with the car.
