My favorite memory is that you do not need to drive far to get around. Many shops and eating places are in walking distance in the town area. The hills make driving interesting and the streets are laid out in a convenient pattern.

Georgia Street takes you to the ferry building when traveling West. It is a direct street and makes a drive to catch the ferry or bus into the Napa Valley or San Francisco Bay area so easy. There is ample parking at the ferry building and on adjacent streets.

Know where you're going. There are some neighborhoods in Vallejo that are pretty rough, but most are okay as long as you're cautious and responsible.

Many parts of this road feel very much like the old routes that would go though the hearts of the cities in America. There is a lot going on this street, and while you do have to exercise some caution there it is still an interesting place to drive.

Traffic is light in Vallejo and drivers are generally courteous. Keep an eye out for freshly painted low riders, there are some good looking rides in that V.

Cruise along Sonoma and look for the used car lots. There are some good deals to be found. Plenty of auto dealerships here too, if that's your thing.

Driving across town to pick up my children from the last day of school. There was no traffic, I caught all the green lights, and the radio was playing good music. Picked up the kids and took them for ice cream.

Every decent shop or restaurant in Vallejo is located along Sonoma Blvd. It's a wide road (three lanes at times), and traffic flows smoothly.
