Albany, NY Driving Tips
Go slow! There are many people walking about in the city and it's easy to miss someone hidden behind a bus or around a corner. Also, do not be intimidated to parking. There is always free street parking after 6:00PM, and it isn't difficult to find a space within reasonable walking distance to your d ... (more)
Albany, NY Buying Tips
When buying a car, proceed with caution as you would in any other city. There are many dealerships to find exactly what you are looking for, but that doesn't ensure the car is in a better condition than that off of craigslist. There are enough cars for sale in the area that you can compare and contr ... (more)
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite memory of driving in Albany, NY is the very first time I drove to the Empire State Plaza. Getting off of highway 787, you exit onto a long ramp that is more like a bridge towering over all of the other exit ramps for the city. Up high, you can see the Hudson River to your right with beau ... (more)
Favorite Road
Pearl St - I love driving on Pearl Street because there are a lot of good views on the way to it's many destinations. There are incredible restaurants and bars on Pearl St that offer a variety of food and views. There is also entertainment at the Times Union Center, a huge venue for artists, and it is always f ... Albany, NY Driving Tips
My advice for drivers in this city is to follow the speed limits. They are there for a reason, protecting you and others from sharp turns, school zones, pedestrian crossings, etc. Don't be in a rush to get somewhere, you could regret it.
Albany, NY Buying Tips
When buying a car in this city, shop around. Go to multiple dealerships as there are plenty to visit, and make sure you go prepared with list of questions. I also recommend taking it on a test drive to someone who knows something about that type of car so that you can verify what the salesman is tel ... (more)
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite memory of driving in Albany is actually the drive in and out of the city. Right outside of Albany is a lot of country land where I live, so each day I get to experience the beauty of the mountains, the trees changing colors, and the view from the highest peek of Albany county, and then a ... Thatcher Park Rd - Thatcher Park Rd is my favorite road to drive on because you get to experience both the country and city all at once. At the top of the road, you are lead to an outlook on the cliff of the mountain. The scenery of the country is stunning, and when you look out, you can see the entire city skyline an ... (more)

Albany, NY Driving Tips
One tip I would give to other drives driving in this city is to be safe! You can enjoy the trees and the water but make sure you're viewing the road as well as the scenery. Also make sure to stop at all the little mom-and-pop shops you drive by; they are always the best.
Albany, NY Buying Tips
What you need to know when buying a car in this city is to ask around. Ask your friends, family, and mechanic if they've seen anything good. Look up good dealers online before making a choice. Make sure to use sites like CarFax to be sure you're getting the full picture about your potential new car ... (more)
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite memory from driving in this city is the scenery. The city is so beautiful, especially in the fall when all the leaves are changing color and falling. There are so many back roads that show off the beauty of my city; almost all the roads are lined with trees. There are also hardly and bil ... (more)

Route 7 - Route 7 is so great because part of it is slower and in the suburbs, but then it transitions into the highway. It is very long and allows you to get to where you need to go but also has a nice view of the city. It goes by all the popular stores and passes by a nice, big waterfront area.
