Buick did a great job with this vehicle. I bought it in the early 2000s from an older retired couple that pretty much drove it to the store and back. So it was almost ten when I purchased it. For a car that's almost 20 years old, it runs like I bought it yesterday. All I'm looking for in a car is something reliable that will get me where I'm going safely. Gas mileage is a plus, it gets about 21 hwy and 17 surface street driving, which is actually better than my husband's 2010 V6 Mustang, As for safety, I truly believe this is the safest car I've ever driven, I say that because I nearly totaled it when someone in a 90s model Suburban turned in front of me as I was doing 45mph through an intersection. For whatever reason, the other driver admitted to not seeing me. I never hit my brak... (more)
Story
Because this car was driven in the salty air by the retired couple that owned it before me, it was prone to paint flaking and rusting. My husband and my father (my dad restores classic cars by the way) gave me a very difficult time for purchasing Rustoleum primer and auto spray paint. According to my dad no car could ever be properly painted with spray paint. All I really wanted was to keep ... (more)
Pros
Great gas mileage, runs very smoothly, exceptionally safe for a vehicle of its age
Cons
Sunroof leaked, and AC went out shortly after I purchased it, the onboard computer has some quirks that return odd codes (it's currently telling me that I don't have a fuel pump, I can assure you that I do.)

The car has been great for me. As someone who primarily drives less than ten miles per day the car has been great for getting around town. I have even taken it on some long-distance road trips. If I had it for a long commute each day, it would be great, as the giant interior and great sound system make driving it a pleasant experience. As I often say, it is like driving my living room. The quality was great for a number of years, but in recent times, the components are starting to fail.
Story
This car has been extremely comfortable for camping! A friend and I took a cross-country roadtrip, and we had an excellent time comfortably cruising the American highways.
Pros
The vehicle itself provides a great ride. Even though it was a smaller vehicle in terms of size, the cabin was spacious, and could comfortably fit four people inside of it. The cabin is also very quiet on the highway, and the car itself provides a very smooth and even ride. Dual climate control also allowed for greater comfort of the passengers. The leather seats have aged very well, and the interior components still work good as new. The body itself has a nice clean timeless look to it, and with proper care, it is not a bad-looking vehicle driving down the road. Even at 16 years old, the ... (more)
Cons
There are very few cons to owning this vehicle. For getting around town, the car is great. If you on frequent trips or need to haul a lot of material, this might not be the car for you. The fuel economy is also pretty poor for a car this small. I average about 18 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway.

2012 Buick Regal - Great car for what it is.

I have had a Buick Regal in the past, also bought used, so I was familiar with the fact that they are reliable and sturdy cars. However, this car exceeded my expectations. I bought it used and it looked and felt like it was brand new. The previous owner used it as a second car, and it did not get a lot of use. He also took amazing care of it. There is barely any blemishes on the car. As far as comfort goes, the car is great. The seats are awesome and the leg room is great.
Story
I drove to Arizona in it a few months ago to visit family. It was a fun little road trip.
Pros
Other pros about this car are that it is very easy and fun to drive. It handles corners very well and is very responsive to me. It actually has a surprising amount of get up and go for a car of this type. Another thing is that it does have a good amount of storage space. The trunk is very spacious. It is also very reliable and durable. I have not had any issues with this car (knock on wood) and it shows no signs of breaking down any time soon
Cons
The only con I can even think of is that it is not the snazziest car on the road. But that is really nitpicking.
