2000 Buick Century - Old reliable
This vehicle has 120,000 miles on it, and all I've ever done is change the oil, tires and battery. The interior has held up well over 18 years, as has the exterior. It gets relatively good has mileage and is easy to drive.
Story
My sister gave me a bumper sticker that says, "Eve was framed." I get thumbs up from ladies at traffic lights and in parking lots.
Pros
Long lasting with minimal maintenance. I tend to drive a car into the ground. This one is still rolling. Original air conditioning and heater still work. I bought it from Enterprise Rentals in 2001. It had 35,000 miles on it when I bought it. The only thing I'm really conscientious about is changing the oil every 3,000 miles. Also, it has a huge trunk.
Cons
Electronic gas and water sensors are spotty. I fill it up when I smell gas. The turn signal lever broke inside the steering column, but to be fair, it did have over 100,000 miles on it. Six months ago, the driver side window slipped out of the track and now it won't close.
2000 Buick Century - Love this car
I bought this car used from an Enterprise Rental Car resale lot. The car had been well maintained, of course. I've had this car for 14 years, and I've never had a major repair. I've never even had a problem passing the smog test, and that's amazing (I live in California). It's been a reliable and comfortable ride, and I would not hesitate to buy another one.
Story
Taking my late Mom to see Christmas tree lane. Traffic was at a crawl for about an hour, and the car did not overheat, even with the heater on the whole time.
Pros
After 14 years it still has a quiet interior.
No major repairs. After 110,000 miles, all I've had done is oil changes, recommended radiator flush, buy new tires, and replace the battery and headlamp bulbs. And I run a can of injector cleaner through it once a year. And the trunk size is very generous.
Cons
The gas gauge sticks sometimes. No cup holders.
