1998 Buick Century - This car is luxurious and has lots of power
What I like about the Buick Century is the luxurious, roomy interior, the leather seats, and the v8 power of the engine. Though it is old, it is the strongest car I have ever owned. What I dislike about it (apart from the age) is the amount of gas it goes through, and the location of the emergency brake.
Story
This car did well driving through canyons that led to the beach.
Pros
My favorite features of the car are the v8 engine, the roomy interior, and the sound system that came originally with the car.
Cons
The top negative things about this vehicle are the amount of gas it goes through per week, the way it overheats in hot weather, and the location of the emergency brake.
1998 Buick Century - Affordable and Reliable Sedan.
I was actively searching for a vehicle around the winter time because I knew first hand how much of a pain it can be to drive your little Honda Ruckus scooter to and from work. I wasn't exactly in any position to make car payments, but I also did not want to buy any "good deal" that I were to find on Craigslist. Fortunately for me, I saw an ad for a Buick Century 98, all white paint, very low mileage. The seller was a very kind older gentleman and he gave it to me for a mere $1,600. I could not believe how little I felt while driving the car. It had the luxury and build of a modern day car. It doesn't hurt that its a big-body style Sedan, so I always feel like I am safe in my car. I also loved the trunk space, and how easy it's been to maintain it. I wouldn't have ever thought this car... (more)
Story
I remember taking this bad boy from New Jersey all the way down to Florida when I moved with my girlfriend. While the 20 hour journey was not the most enjoyable experience ever, I did have some good laughs and never felt as if my car were going to leave me stranded miles from my destination.
Pros
-Big Body Trim/Frame
-Easy and Affordable Maintenance
-Few known issues
-Moderate on gas consumption
-Spacious interior for tall people and big families
-Very smooth road handling
-Power Windows
-Very competent Heater/AC
Cons
-Power Windows may go bad after some years
-Stock Radio is known to stop working
-Check Engine Light Gas Panel issue
