Buffalo, NY Driving Tips
Learn how to drive in the snow! Not only will other motorists thank you for not creating a hazard on the road, you'll be able to get out and enjoy nearly deserted streets that are beautiful to see late at night or early in the morning when crews have only plowed them once or twice. It really is a tr

Micro cars are a waste here. Parking is plentiful. Most houses, even in the city, have off-street parking. With the advent of hybrids and electrics you can get a slightly larger size car, be thankful you have the room to go places with more than just yourself in the car, make some friends, and go pl

aces. There is so much to discover here - downtown right on the water, Niagara Falls to the North of the city, and state parks inland. Better to be comfortable. Most dealers have plenty of used lease cars so don't waste your time buying new. Let someone else take the hit on depreciation. Care for the car, and you'll still get a good 10 years out of it...and it'll cost you much less than if you bought new.

I think what is really wonderful about driving in and around the city of Buffalo is that it is really geared towards the motorist, despite it's size. You are able to drive right into the heart of downtown on a busy day, which I have done many times during all seasons. And while it may not be the eas

Near the Zoo, Park, and Art Gallery it is absolutely gorgeous regardless the time of year. You forget that you're in the city, and it makes you feel like you've stepped back in time to the turn of the 1900s when much of the area was being developed as a park and cohesive unit. It's kept that feel, a

One tip I would give to people driving around the city is to be very patient. In Buffalo people can get very aggressive and cut others off. Without patience, serious accidents and road rage can occur. Take time to look around and enjoy the local shops and pretty gardens outside stores. You have to

Personally, I would suggest a small car. Having a compact car can help you maneuver the smaller streets easier. Some roads are very tight and having a small vehicle can help you avoid accidents. Large trucks take up a lot of space and cause many accidents because of their size. I prefer West Herr be

I love driving around the city late at night when I am coming home from work. One time in particular I was driving through the city on July 4th around 10pm and people were shooting off fireworks in the center of the street. People who were shooting off fireworks were very polite and moved all their

Driving in the winter is a hassle. Give yourself plenty of extra time if there's a snow storm. That being said, the highway department does a great job of getting the plows and salters out on the roads to clear them in a very timely manner. The roads have plenty of pot holes from the heating and coo

When buying a car in the Northeast there are several factors you need to take into account that you may not have to in other parts of the country. I would always suggest looking for a car that has all wheel drive or four wheel drive. Having a second set of rims with snow tires on them is a good idea

. if AWD or 4x4's are not an option I would suggest going with a front wheel drive car or putting some weights in the back of a rear wheel driving car\truck. I would also suggest putting some extra money aside to have your car washed on a somewhat regular basis. The salt they lay in the streets get caught up in the wheel wells and around the trim of the car and begins to erode away the paint and clear coat. Rust is not far off after that's happened.

My favorite road to drive down would be Elmwood ave. It's a street that runs from the suburbs all the way to the heart of the city. It reminds of a small town road.
