Used BMW 7 Series for Sale

There is a price to pay for luxury, regular maintenance is very expensive for the BMW. And, any parts needed are more expensive than the average vehicle. I still have not learned what some of the accessories are because there are so many included, too high tech for me I guess. Can overheat easily if not properly bled every time you add coolant, which is not something I have ever had to do with any other car in the past. Also, the resale value is not much compared to the price when the car was purchased,

Once these vehicles are out of warranty, the repairs are extremely expensive. When BMW first redesigned this 7 series BMW, the ZF transmission was a new concept for them. It had lot's of problems that kept reoccurring over time. Some issues were computer related, others were not. The car also has lot's of different sensors. If one sensor malfunctioned, it would cause the entire car to shut down. Also, finding a mechanic that is certified to work on the vehicles can be a challenge.

BMW has had a bushing problem and this vehicle was no different. I used to have a large shimmy in the car when I sat at a stoplight and when I was going between 55 and 66 mph. Replacing the bushing is the obvious answer. Another problem that I had was with the automatic transmission. There is a capability of changing your drive style to a different mode depending upon the road conditions. A flaw in the system meant that if I was at a stop and idling for 30 minutes (traffic) or more and then sped up, the car would shift automatically up to about 55mph. At that point it would decide that it wanted to be in 1st or 2nd gear... so I would get hit with a massive compression stop on the freeway. I soon learned that the problem was electronic. By pulling over and turning the car off and then starting it up again, the transmission reset and functioned normally.
