Used 2007 BMW 5 Series for Sale

The cons are that the maintenance repairs are very expensive! Every trip to the shop can be $1000 easy. Some even can go into the multiple thousands.

There have been a few certain instances where I pressed the remote and the car didn't immediately respond and acknowledge I pressed the unlock key, so I was a little afraid I might get locked out of my car if the remote battery died. I got a brand new replacement battery put into the key fob, and still faced the same issue. However, there's a backup manual key inside the key fob, so my fears really would have never played out. Also, once the dealership gave me a new fob, no more issues. German cars are, in a very broad scope, notorious for having bizarre mechanical problem, so that's what I chalked the fob issue up to. As I mentioned, I love the weight of this car. It's definitely not as heavy as a truck, but you can't say this car is 'peppy', like you can say of a BMW 3 series, that's much lighter than my car. You can still accelerated moderately fast (it's no M5), but I wish I had a little more gusto coming from the car when I push down all the way on the gas pedal. Then again, I'm not doing any racing these days. I've been lucky, but a con in general of the BMWs is that IF something goes wrong, it's almost always quite expensive to repair. So, that's been another worry, looming in the back of my mind. It's not come to fruition, but something to consider. Especially if you buy one that's ten or more years old.
