2002 BMW 5 Series Owner Ratings & Reviews

2002 BMW 5 Series - Expensive, but worth it
Overall my M5 has been a wonderful car. I love the power of my BMW M5. I opted for the post face lift version which includes projector headlights and Celis tail lights. The E39 M5 is the last hand built M car ever produced. The power feels limitless. No matter which gear I'm in I always get pushed into my seat when I punch the gas. The interior is very solid and nothing is damaged inside even being 12 years old. The cabin is nice and quiet on the highway yet I still get that gorgeous roar from the V8 at high RPMs. The ride on the highway is very smooth for a 12 year old 340 rwhp family sedan.
Story
I have walked so many people in this thing. From a dig it just hooks up and flys.
Pros
The power and looks are the two most mentionable pros for this car. The design of this car really is timeless.
Cons
The parts are getting too expensive for me to justify the ownership anymore. I have spent more money in parts over the past couple of years than the car is worth. Granted, you don't own one of these things for its economic features.
2002 BMW 5 Series - Love it, expensive if not well maintained
Overall, I love the car. If it's in your price range, I would recommend it completely. The car does well on the road and would be great for a single adult or as a family car. The cabin is spacious as well as the large trunk, designed to fit 3 full size golf bags (for comparison). The propulsion is smooth and there is little sound from the engine inside the cabin whether in the city or on county roads.
Pros
Features & Luxury. Although the car is a 2002, it meets or exceeds many current lower price range cars. Many of the features make the cabin of the car a very comfortable experience for short or long drives. It's warm in the winter and remains cool even in summer.
Style, The car is known for its look, but the interior and exterior are beautiful. The sleek design is aerodynamic, yet retains the legacy of the brand. Interior is grey leather with black dash and a dark laminate wood trim.
Cons
Performance in winter (snow). As the car is rear-wheel drive there are some problems to be had in inclement weather.
Gas mileage. If you're concerned about mileage, the car averages around 18 city and 28 highway in mostly hill/mountain terrain. The car is very heavy, but sports a lot of power to make up for it.
