BMW is advertised as the ultimate driving machine. And I'd have to agree. I love how my car seems to grip the pavement as I drive. It doesn't feel to heavy, but at the same time, not too light. My car is an automatic transmission. Some car enthusiasts would claim to be this makes it less fun. I'd have to disagree. My car gets up to speed much fast than others in its class. It is rear wheel drive, which makes turning corners a blast. It looks sporty and feels sporty. Not to mention that it has a sport driving mode which allows you to shift gears lick a manual transmission. With all of the fun I have driving, I don't want to understand how comfortable and reliable it has been for me. I have the 4 door model which makes it easier to take my wife and kids for a ride. There is plenty of spa... (more)
Story
I remember driving on the freeway from Tacoma to Seattle everyday for work. I hated the commute until I bought this car. Now I actually enjoy it 1, because driving has become fun again, and 2, because it gets a lot of attention from other commuters.
Pros
The handling. Luxury look and feel. Rear wheel drive. Great gas mileage. Fun to drive. Reliable when maintained. Sport mode.
Cons
If something breaks it can get pricey to replace or repair.

I've owned this car for about two years now. Its not the most powerful car, but is still great fun to drive. Mine is a 5 speed manual, and the gearbox feels great. The gear ratios are great as well. Interior is extremely comfortable, but lacks storage space. Trunk is average size, but includes a basic toolkit. The stability and traction control make the car very safe in heavy rain and light snow, and its easy to turn off when you want the extra power. I've modified the car as much as I can afford to since I've owned it. There's not a large aftermarket of performance parts for this car, especially if you're looking to add power. The car currently has around 150,000 miles. It burns quite a bit of oil, and has since I've owned it. More and more things are starting to go wrong with, but no... (more)
Story
I live in Washington State. One Thursday me and a few buddies of mine decided we wanted to road trip to California the next day. So we spent 17 hours on the 101 in the Beamer, got a hotel, and back up the 101 the next day. Taking that car on the coastal roads made the entire trip worth it.
Pros
Handling, comfortable, good stereo, fun to drive, available in 5 speed, easy to work on, tool kit.
Cons
Expensive oil, parts can be expensive, not a lot of aftermarket parts available, could use more power, expensive insurance.

Not much, other than having the exact type of used car I was looking for. I found the salesperson I worked with to be a bit cold and not very personable. When it came time to negotiate the price I was fully prepared with KBB print outs, and my smartphone to show I knew what the car should be sold for, especially as I was paying in cash. I opened negotiations with my bottom line price and told them it was that or nothing. Of course, he came back with a higher price to which I stood firm on my original price. The salesperson tried to make me feel like I had less of a bargaining position since I was all cash, instead of them making money off me if I financed. In the end they agreed on my original price. Post-sale, I took the car to a BMW dealership and it was found to have a significant ... (more)

BMW Seattle had many cars to choose from, had courteous salespeople, and provided a comfortable buying experience for my new car.
