2006 Audi A3 Owner Ratings & Reviews

2006 Audi A3 - Good until it breaks.
I think there are many good qualities about this car including a quality feeling interior, sleek exterior design, and a powerful engine. What I don't like though is how incredibly unreliable this car is. I have spent many, many hours fixing it. Last year I had to replace all of the motor mounts, an axle, the catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, and the ignition switch. Now, less than a year later, I am having problems with the O2 sensors again. When the car is working well, it runs great, and still feels like a good quality car even though it is getting older. When it is having problems though, it is a nightmare to drive because I am always worried the car will break down.
Story
One time, my friends and I really wanted Chick-fil-A. I have 4 seats excluding my own, but I had 5 friends who wanted to go. Luckily, the car has a decent trunk so we managed to have someone curl up in the back so we could all get our chicken. It was delicious.
Pros
The pros are look of the exterior and interior. This A3 model has 2 moon roofs which makes the top of the car look stylish. I like the fact that it is a wagon so I have a significant amount of cargo space in a small car. The model I have has leather which has held up over the years and has minimal cracking. This car is perfect for transporting a college kid and all of their stuff 1000 miles and back when they go to school.
Cons
The cons are that the car seems to be in a state of disrepair no matter how much I try and fix it. For a while, the car shook so badly it felt like it was falling apart. After replacing all of the motor mounts in the engine, it still shook. Finally, a week and $300 later, I found out it was the axle that was broken and had to replace that. It is also difficult to find parts for a car that is old, and considered "luxury." Then, when I do find the parts, they are 4x as expensive as they would be in other cars.
2006 Audi A3 - Disappointed
I love the look of my Audi, its a perfect size for me, the interior is nice and it gets pretty decent gas mileage. It's pretty zippy and has a manual option and shift paddles. The back seats fold down so it has plenty of room for my dog or camping gear. The main issues are that I've had to replace the thermostat, the back lights continuously burn out, it gives false errors, the original stereo screen went out so that had to be replaced with a different brand because the Audi stereos are so expensive. The leather seats cracked, the back power window motor is broken so that needs to be replaced, the power windows in the front give me trouble (I try to roll the window down but it takes a few times for it to go down, as soon as I let go it starts to roll back up). The gas cap needs to be r... (more)
Story
Putting the back seats down and going to the drive in movies.
Pros
The size of the vehicle & the power seats.
Cons
Everything seems to break easily and its expensive to replace.
